There's a white 60 with a roof rack getting some work done at the Mobile station on Johnston by the fire station and pawn shop right by Fatima. Nice looking rig from the road. I met Saints on the forum and it could be his. Going to email him and find out for sure.

not sure on the vintage i believe the older gent said 1972, but i will stop by this morn with some links to other LC links on parts and find out for sure. the column shift will not negotiate 1st and 2nd.....

yeah marty saw the same fj62. i need some of them business cards. i saw that guy saints on a 60 thread we need to get in touch with him. go marty the recruiter.

Saints was displaced by Hurricane Katrina. He's getting back on his feet and he's getting that Cruiser ready from what he told me. Sounds like a bonafide Cruiser Addict. We'll get him to a meeting and maybe some rides.

Saw a real nice green FJ 60 yesterday by Fournet's gas station on Johnston. I was headed to our football scrimmage and couldn't stop. Real nice looking rig. NEver seen it before.

Just looking at this post today... saw it on Kaliste while I was talking to Landry. Young guy driving.

Left a card on a late model paint (new) early model 40 today at the ball park in Lafayette. Aftermarket seats, bench, AM steering column, new AM lights.. HUGE pitman arm on a PS setup.. not bad.

We'll see if we hear from them.

Saw a nice blue FJ60 at the festival this morning I was out of bus cards in the cruiser so I didn't leave any info very nice all original first time seeing that one. :)

I'll post up the 78 fj40 resto project Brian has 4-Sale need to get the pics off my phone. Also took some of his FJ60 sprung over he bought from Will M.

I was on my way back from Grand Isle Friday and saw a FJ-40. I stopped and talked to the guy. It turns out the guy bought it in 1974 when it was 10 months old. It only has 20,000 miles on it! He said most of the miles were from being towed behind his RV. Very nice rig, all stock with original tires. He said he would never sell. I gave him my card anyway. He was around 85 years old, so I dont think he is going to join the club. Also, this cruiser lives in his barn. I had seen it a few times when it was outside but had never seen the owner outside. I will bring my camara and take some pics next time I go to work. Almost forgot, The only thing ever changed on this beauty was the water pump. It still has original sparkplugs! I asked if he knew how much it was worth, he thought 1000.00 tops.

Hope you got his name...lol. It'll be for sale sooner than later. ;) Good story

On my way home from Lafayette this weekend I saw a 08 cruiser at the dealership. I had to go check it out today with my son. It is only $78,000! I figured we would all get one at that price. The only problem is they only have this one. And they won't be getting another one anytime soon. Being the great guy that I am, I am bowing down for the club and letting someone else take home this rig. All I ask is that who ever decided to buy it, let me take it on the first trail ride, because of the finders fee.

All jokes aside, the truck was smaller than I thought it was going to be. I had heard here on mud that it was a very stout truck. I don't agree. The skid plates are thinner than the sheet metal on my 40. It looked like it had a lot of little suspension parts that would not agree with rocks or trees. The only thing I did like about the big "highlander" was the crawl off-road option.

So when I arrived at the dealership everyone was very nice and gave me tons of books on Land Cruisers and other stuff. The owner of the dealership came out to see my 40 and I told him about the BSLCA and so on. He then told me he had a 78 40 that my son and I went to look at in the back of the dealership.
The pics are of the new cruiser of course and of the owner of the dealerships 78 40. Enjoy!

LOL... awesome!

1. $78K!!!!!!!!! That's just nuts....

2. Fer a Toyota man... he don't realize his bezel is upside down like.. :hillbilly:

78 grand? Yikes... I personaly am not sure I like it that much, looks kinda Crossover-ish.

I am sure in 10 years there will be some bad ass ones on the trail though.

at Star Bucks across the street from my work. I was able to find the guy & give him a club card. I think his name is Matt (sorry if thats not it, I'm bad with names), goes to med school in NO. He knows of the BSLCA & Mud, so hopefully we'll see him around. I was with my wife & we were in a hurry so I didn't get details, sorry :bang:

Good eye Jason. It would be great to have a 55 in the club. Hopefully he'll be in touch. What a great color
