Really? If I were to guess it might be the most discussed topic on the forum. Not to bust balls, but check out this thread: 200 Series Tire and Wheel Size Database

I've checked and if you search for 295/70/R18 a number of other posts discuss that tire/wheel size.

Thanks for that! Still learning my way around the forums. Didn't really start using it until recently.

Great review and nicely said.

I likewise went to the Falken's for wet and cold weather performance when I go skiing. I expect an AT to perform in all terrain, which to me also includes all conditions. It can't pick and choose what conditions it wants to perform in. It doesn't help me if an AT tire is 10% better in dirt for example, when it won't do the dead in the cold.

My Falken's have been wearing very very well, which is to say they'll give me more than the life I will want from it. Considering the relative cost to the KO2's, I'm totally okay if it perhaps wears a little faster. I know the real trade is that it's a softer compound which to me means more traction in virtually all conditions. But not too soft that it shows any chunking/chipping. None at all to speak of.
Are you running the pmetrics or the e rated? I am leaning towards the wildpeaks in the p as I don’t tow anything. Thanks

I'm running 305/55/20 in LT Load Range E. Largely because I tow. The larger tire sizes generally only come in LT. There might be a few odd P-metric or even P-metric XL (extra load).

I was concerned about ride quality, but I've been pleasantly surprised. It rides buttery smooth. I give part of the the credit to AHC. Another part to the Falken AT3Ws as a better riding tire (than say a KO2). Also, the wider and taller size I run, allows the geometry of the sidewall to be bowed out and more compliant as a result. Compared to fitments that are square in sidewall profile.

If you are in Boston get Summer AND Winter tires. Get separate wheels and you can swap in your driveway. Your Summer tires will last twice as long. Almost.

i got toyo tires on rear for $260 balanced installed, liked them so much i put another set on front for same price and has been driving for almost 15k+ miles. they are very quiet and smooth, very comfortable ride and tread still looks just like new.

I am in Texas and have over 40K on factory shipped Dunlop GranTrek figure they have about 10 to 15k more in them. My next tire will be Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in 285/60/R18 120S XL (65K tire warranty) they also sell it in 122/119S E (50k tire warranty). I want the lower load rating. I not sure of winter weather on this tire but I just put set of NItto Terra Grappler on my T100 and I know they work in rain. I think others on forum have run this tire and may have opinions they are willing to share.

I ran the NTG on my LX470. Great mild AT tire. More conservative and road focused. Good NVH. I've tried them in winter and snow and can't say they are good in that use.

Note that the "G2" varient went to a newer compound that was focused on longer wear live (read harder and mildly nosier compound). Toyo being the parent of Nitto also transitioned their Open Country AT to "AT2" with the same revised compound sometime in ~2013 IIRC. Both are of an older design and formulation.

There are more modern and competitive tire models out today. The NTG is not a bad tire per se. Just that the competitive set has moved forward.

Most of the p-metric tires I see are standard load (SL) rating, while the OE replacement (285/60R18) is extra load (XL). I like the idea of a plus size P-Metric tire (e.g. 275/65R18, 265/70R18 or 285/65R18) but am not finding these sizes in the XL load rating.

I see several threads with people recommending sticking with P-Metric tires over LT but I can't seem to find any discussion on the load rating. Is it ok to use a SL (112/114 index) tire on our heavy trucks?

Factory shipped Dunlop is a 116 I personally would not go lower. I copied the below from goodyear index and load lbs.
