LC 200 failing stereo head unit

My LC has 111k miles and running well. My only complaint the head stereo unit touchscreen would become unresponsive from time to time and would require several restarts, sometimes spanning days for it to become responsive again. It makes controlling HVAC difficult (only Auto or OFF as options) and controlling the stereo functions. I was thinking I need to find a used LC200 headunit and do a swap but while I was at it, perhaps I can find a 2021 unit with Carplay? I have the JBL amplified version. Is this possible or am I stuck replacing this with another pre-carplay head unit?

21s didn’t have CarPlay either. Only difference between a 16 and 18-up is they switched to capacitive touchscreens vs resisitive.
