Yes, mydogpea and I live a couple miles apart on the Oregon Coast. Are you local?

(I'm also sorry for the chat).

sweet, i loved ur build!! ya im in corvallis we all should meet some time for wrenching, wheeling or dinner. it would be fun!!

Can't help with the tech, but it looks like you're gearing up for a major drive train upgrade. Sounds like those fj60 2f's are the bee's knees. We'll have to drag race when you're done, lol.
Upgrade indeed! I just married the 4 spd. to the engine yesterday. Once I get this ignitor/coil/distributor setback over with, I'll have to figure out how to wire the different allternator. Different connectors and other side of the engine.

All DGV series Webers , either 32/36 or 38mm should have a timed vacuum port for distributor advance. If there are two ports below the choke on the carb base, the advance is always the smaller of the two . Also , the air cleaner base plate should have a pre-punched hole in the base for the 90* angled fitting for the crankcase vent line .

Thanks Sarge. Yes, and I'll have to punch another one for one of the ports on top of the dizzy cap.

Okay, so I got my hands on a igniter/coil thanks to another mud member. My question is; Do these 2 wire connectors go to each other or do they go to something else.

Okay. So I read that thread, I found the large(12 guage)diameter black/yellow wire, but, mine goes from the fuse box to the ignition switch and that's it. There is only a large diameter black/white 12 gauge wire that goes to the starter solenoid and a small diameter 16 gauge black/yellow wire going to the ballast resistor.
There is no other 12 gauge black/yellow wire in the harness.
What now??? Am I not going to be able to run the large cap dizzy or can I splice into the 12g. b/y wire and run the splice to the ignitor/coil to make it work?

FOUND IT! 2nd 12g. b/y wire coming out from the fuse panel that had been cut to about 8" and spliced into the other one and wrapped with electrical tape.
