It gives you more turning radius than a locked ARB but less than an unlocked dif. But enough to manuever. I liked what I saw enoguh to try it... if i end up hating it then I'll pull it and sell it to a taco wheeler... but I'm going to try it.

I'll put some thought into it. I'm already over $1100 into just the axle.... Whoever says wheeling can be a cheap hobby is LYING! Haha.

Congrats you just shaved $150 off a $1500 project.

Yay!

What about situations that require 4WD and maneuverability?

you could do hydro assist from west texas offroad and an aussie locker for a lot less than an ARB. That is what I will do eventually. I am going to run the aussie in the front for now, just waiting and waiting and waiting for the Marlin seals to arrive to install everything.

Hmm... could be a solution. I'm only running 33's, I'll start thinking about hydro assist when I'm on 38's :hillbilly:

Watched an 80 at the Round-Up manuver perfectly with an Aussie in the front with Aisin hubs... locked/unlocked

That would be me. :). Just need to watch out for that rock that reaches up and unlocks you hub when you are not looking.;)

The glorious think about the 80 with a front locker is being able to control the center diff, That is where the difference is. as long as the wheels are on the ground, you have traction all the way around witht he F/R lockers. When you get into some stuff, just lock the center diff. Make a huge difference in manuverability.

Also to the original poster, I would upgrade the rear asap. These rigs are heavy and it does not take much to break the rear shafts on the SF rear end. I broke both in one weekend on 35s at the the old Katemcy. Now I am full floated with Polys. :smokin:

My next move is hydro assist and then tons....

of course it was you Darius... had it been me, I would have rolled down the hill.
That magically unlocking hub... I don't want that kind...

Oh Lane I have a spare rear FF axle also ;)

I was planning on getting a FF rear eventually, with chromo shafts. Unlocked, of course :D I don't want to deal with twisting the infamous short splines....

That, and I won't have a CDL much longer :hillbilly:

Are you talking about the splines that get twisted in the locking collar? If so, you can use a factory locking diff housing and just swap out your third member.
