Well after a couple of weeks of work I finished off the interior refresh. Overall i think it came out ok. The seat covers are obviously lighter than the stock seats but I don't mind it. Down the road I'll probably have them recovered with new seat foam but whatever. Anyway, a list of things I replaced/did.

New carpet from Stock Interiors
New seat covers from Precision Fit
Dynamat in the doors, quarters, and floor
New jute
Extra layer of padding
Painted all of the trim pieces along the floor and back panels
Painted the consoles

Parts list:

Carpet - Stock Interiors 1068-Medium Grey Ultra-Plush Cut Pile
Seat Covers - Precision Fit GTT663LTMG and GTT664LTMG
Paint - SEM 38353 Plastic Prep, SEM 15303 Graphite
Dyamat Extreme - about 50 SQ FT

Overall impressions:

The carpet molding was ok except for the gas pedal area. I'm hoping once it stretches a bit from use it will lay in better but no amount of trimming would help. You have to trim out the holes, console area, and around the doors which I knew going in. It looks pretty good but I know having installed carpet kits in many old Mustangs I've restored, the process can be as simple as dropping it in with no cutting, trimming, etc and it fits much better.

The seat covers were pretty easy to install. I had to fill in some areas in the old seat foam that had worn away prior to putting the covers on. I also added another layer of padding on the front seats prior to putting the covers on. I finally sat in them today and that's the most comfortable they've been since I bought the truck. The biggest pain in the butt with the covers was just getting them. It took about 45 days and a couple of phone calls.

The paint was pretty much an exact match. I'm honestly surprised at how close it is. Huge difference having painted everything.

Anyway, before pictures.

Was the carpet the mass-backed type? Difficulty in getting it in place?

I've had ALOT of good luck with pressure washing original carpet. 2500 psi pressure washer, simple green, stiff nylon brush, and a shop vac and you would be amazed on how it will turn out. I just did it to my newest project and once again it turned out amazing.

Yeah I'd try pressure washing next time to see how it turns out.

No backing on it since I was going to use Dynamat and extra padding. Cutting it to fit wasn't terrible, just how it fit in the gas in the gas peddle area isn't great.
