I saw this article about Dan Hendeson's LandRover and I thought about sharing with you guys, maybe you'll find it funny like I did

I've seen that too. Couple of posts in the Chit Chat section. Stories like this remind me of the old joke that 95% of all Land Rovers are on the road...the other 5% made it home!

Had a boss that owned a Disco on a 3 year lease. Thing died on her and she literally had the POS towed back to the dealer when the lease ran out. I couldn't stop laughing.

too soon ...

That'll be funny for me in a year or so. Land Rover reliability is what brought me here. Just because I have to vent, here is what had to be fixed just in the last 12 months before I sold it with 70,000 well-cared for miles:

Rear sun roof track (2nd time)
Driver's seat track (2nd time)
Coil - twice
Plug wires - twice (at $340/set)
Coolant res. tank
Head gasket
Re-seal leaking transfer case
Re-seal leaking front diff cover
Front drive shaft and U-joint ($1,500)
ABS wheel sensor ($800)
Entire engine (short block) ($10,400)
Valve guides ($660)
Replaced cam assbly in new engine (failed with only 1,000 miles on it)
Replaced oil pan gasket to fix oil pan leak on brand new engine.

In the end, over $16,000 worth of work and that doesn't include rental car upgrades I had to pay for to accomidate my two big dogs that go with me to work every day. That alone adds almost another $1,000 to the bill. That extended warranty is the best $1,500 I have ever spent.

You know there is something wrong when the dealer knows your dogs' names.
