As someone who has also done a cross-Nevada trip with the same group of dudes (minus Cameron and Alex), I can only say that this type of trip is not something that east coasters can just get in their rigs and do. Like Andy said, there is a lot of pre-preparation that goes into a trip like this. It is a significantly different experience than going to an off-road park for a few days and wheeling. It is a really different mindset.

Discussions, arrangements, logistics start months in advance. (They like to rub it in and CC me in on the conversation). :)

I'm definitely doing DV this fall in the 60 Andy. :)

Looking forward to more pics.

OK, someone tell me how to host the pics on a separate site?! I would love to finish this trip report with good pics. I do not have google or picaso. Sorry! I can do a reduce file size on my mac, but it greatly reduces the photo quality and that's not cool.

Also, FJ60cam's truck ran great! I was really impressed with how the motor fit with plenty of room and the power he had was amazing. There were times where he was following me and i thought i would pull away from him on a climb... nope! In fact, he was probably able to pass me on the climbs if he wanted.

Very nice motor swap, and to drive it across the country, wheel it, drive it home, amazing!

When you export the photos from iPhoto you can choose the size you want. You're probably choosing "original", but try "large" or "medium" instead. Keep the "quality" setting on high.

Don't know 'bout that, Alex is an iPhone machine. I'm actually the low tech guy in the high tech world of this group.

I liked Northern Nevada so much, I am considering going back there in the fall. The only problem might be the number of hunters. If you're serious though, I could be talked into Death Valley.

Indeed we ran across a LOT of mud on this trip. Even my dog got mud in the eye:

Who knew that at the end of May there'd be this much snow still around.

This gives you an idea of what some of the dryer trails were like:

Another option, in a sea of many, Alex is Dropbox. Easy to set-up, useful for many purposes...blah blah blah. You can determine what rez you want to upload/display...IOS app makes it a snap to direct from iPhone, etc. Serves multiple purposes including redundant data storage, etc. I like it.

For those in ONSC curious about doing a trip like this, our Hurricane Creek expedition style trips are the most similar.

That Rez burger on the fry bread was a massive plate of food. It defeated all of us.

Alex was going to have some more pics and text. Did I miss it?:flipoff2:

haha I did last night. But, when i link the pics it just is a link and not actually the picture.

In the mean time, i did make this little teaser video last night:

Ok...since food is always on my mind...one more from the Explore Nevada 2015 trip for the foodies :D

That full length film is going to be great. Nice work!

Love the thread title :D :flush:

Dang...could have sworn there was an "embarrassed" moticon amongst the choices...hah!

So jelly.
It's so nice to see guys using their trucks for their intended purpose. Those are definitely NOT mall crawlers. I'm totally inspired by y'all.
