Land cruiser with a 5vz-fe motor or Land cruiser with a 1FZ-FE 4.5L Inline 6

Good Morning All

Looking 2 1996 Land Cruisers. One has the 5Vz-fe motor , other one has the 1FE- FE Both with 220,000 kms
Going to use them as a daily driver and for some off-road. Both are in good condition

Looking for some advise ..

5vz is an....interesting option for a swap. I'd say get the 1fz cause I can't see the performance benefits of the swap, and there's about 1000 less unknowns with the original power plant. Did they keep the stock tranny with the v6?

Are they both 80 series, or us the V6 a Prado? Hard to believe there’s a 5vz in a 80.

Was talking to a 4 runner guy in the parking lot the other day who a) asked if mine was a 4 runner and b) assumed I had a 3.4. His eyes got big when I said 4.5 Haha

The 80 will be more machine. This also means more problems. If you drive on the road mostly you might like the Prado more. I recommend trying both since these really can't compare. 1FZ powerband is very different from the 5VZ.
