I am heading out to view some wildflowers in the area around the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve this weekend. Does anyone know of any good trails to ride in that area. Two weekends ago I tooled around on Fairmont Butte by the Poppy Reserve and had a good time. Looking for more fun out that way. thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Rowher Flats/Bouquet Canyon trail is close by. Not much out here in the valley though without a bit of a drive.

Good idea! I think I will take the kids to the poppy reserve this weekend.

my little trails guide book show the following around the area:

sierra pelona trail, tule ridge trail and grass mountain trail.

Have fun!

Have you run Rowher Trail? Dirtopia makes it sound pretty difficult and should only be attempted by super experienced folks. Not sure if that is directed at trucks, ATV's or dirtbikes. Looks like a cool trail though.

Care to Rendezvous for a trail? I am heading up that way Saturday morning with a friend who has a Tacoma. It would be fun to run with another 100.

Any room for one more. I have wanted to meet up with some other local 100's. I also will have my preschool daughter. She enjoys our trips. I did do a small part of the backside of Rowher Trail like 2 days after getting my LX but with just me and my daughter and still bone stock I did not want to push any limits at that time.

it sounds great! I will send you a pm

Always room for more. Sounds like it will be a big family LC outing.

Head west to the end of Ave. L and you can play in the hills out there. Some nice views of the Antelope Valley.

Thanks for all the info. We had an awesome trip. Played around on Fairmont Butte just directly adjacent to the poppy reserve and then headed over to the Sierra Pelona Trail. Did two sections of Rowher Trail with 3 hundy's and a tacoma. Everyone did an awesome job on some tough sections of trail. The weather was amazing and the views were stunning from the top of Sierra Pelona. I will post some photos soon.
