I'm taking Alamo road to Lake Alamo Friday morning. Last time I took the road it was stock friendly yet fun. If anyone wants to tag along let me know.

Wow, I've lived here 25+ years and never heard of Lake Alamo. Rarely get out that direction. Gotta work Friday, but sounds fun! May drag the kayaks out there to explore.

Campsite on the water.

With the drought, it's nice to see water in it. Always heard it is a good lake for crappie and bass fishing.

Its a cool place and almost always near empty.

You ain't joking! Went out there today with the kayak. Left Phx at 4AM to beat the heat. Was 66 deg in Wenden. One other boat on the entire like while I was out there. Plenty of burros, herons, buzzards, could see big tilapia swimming in the shallows. Beautiful place, will return! Had the kayak on a trailer so didn't do any dirt this time. Ranger said all the BLM land surrounding the park was closed.

Went back out here today to take some photos. Went in on the pavement from Wenden, and since I was without trailer and kayak, came out the dirt "Old Alamo Rd" from Wayside. About 30-ish miles of dirt between Wayside just south of the state park, and where it joins highway 93 about 15 miles N of Wickenburg. The westernmost 10 miles in La Paz county leading up to Wayside is like 4-lane graded dirt - 50 MPH+. The road gets steadily worse the farther east you go, but still plenty stocker friendly.
