that's pretty much my same setup.

See ya at 10:30? :D

Jim, you'll be fine with that setup on Cleghorn. How the hell did you get that as a rental? LOL
One man's driveway eyesore is another man's rental. ;)
If we can get it drivable, we may be there.

Any HAM guys going on this run?

Yep!

I was going to ask if there are any comm freqs (or CB channels) that are going to be used?

If no one else has one in mind for 2M, how about 146.46?

If any CB's, what channel? If no other suggestion, how about the day of the month (Channel 26?)

Hey guys, I'll be visiting SanDiego that weekend. Doesn't look too far away for a day trip (~2.5hrs.).

Would a FJ60 w/ 33's, OME lift and ARB front & side bars (my rental car) be OK for this trail? No locker or winch.

Jim, I just sent you an email.

Dana

hahaha... I still haven't even gotten a CB in my rig, let alone worked on getting a HAM license. Good to know someone would be checking on the run anyways. Have fun in Arrowhead!

Can anyone who is going send me a PM and I can post a roll-call?

cheers, shane.

this interests me much. been looking for an opportunity to have some good times with other toyotas.

few questions:

1. weather: looks like a heavy chance of rain all throughout the area until SUN. ive never been up to cleghorn... is it worth doing in the rain and mud or are we going to be constantly pulling each other out?

2. having read the thread it seems theres lots of opportunities to go on alt paths to avoid hard stuff on the trail. im assuming i'll be fine with my stock 4runner on a/t style 31s (no lift, lockers, etc), correct? guess im asking if it will still be fun with my limited capabilities.

finally, im new here (registered for more info/interest in this trip). some pictures and info on my 4runner here... IH8MUD.com Forum - View Single Post - Readers Rides, for pics and specs on your Toy(s).

You should be fine, and I don't think we should have too many issues with weather as it's mainly a fire road with bypass sections- if it looks too hard, we can skip to the next section.

Oh and welcome:flipoff2:

isn't the Cleghorn area around 4000 ft and up? isn't it likely there will be snow? fun!

Hey Shane,

I'm not going to make it unfortunately. Enjoy! Should be a fun day out with some snow too

Yes (90% in - unless something unexpected) - i'm coming from Burbank area - do i just take 210 E and 15 N?

count me in with some friends riding along. at 10:30 in the ~1mile in location linked to on gmaps: nf 2n49 - Google Maps

Im heading out from Burbank area as well... and thats the route ill be taking.

philos1 you have a pm.

what kind of recovery options do we have? any straps or winched folk coming along? (i got nothing at this stage. i can bring a shovel, though!)

Axed - I have straps, and a hi-lift, but my winch isn't mounted yet. We can skip any areas that look too tough.

Hostbar - I grew up in Burbank and live in NH now. If you all want to "convoy" we could meet somewhere local and then head out (Say 8:00?).

I will update the roll call as well :)
