Shane - Ill see if I can go. It will probably be a last minute thing since Im coming off a 12 hour night shift Friday. If its a busy shift I tend to take naps between valleys while driving :steer:. Ill be watching this thread for the time or changes.

You all think a stocker with rear locker on 275's could run this without damage?

Shouldn't be an issue. You can sort of check out each section before you drive it (it's a fire-road with medium/difficult bypass sections). Although I did scrape my Kaymar on one narrow-ish section, but maybe it wouldn't have happened with a spotter.

It's a fun trail from just one trip there.

What Philos said. If you feel you dont want to try a section you can just take the road around and meet the group on the other side of the hill. It's great that way.

Ok, cool. Any idea on when you wanted to meet, run time, etc? I know its super casual, but I've got a prior commitment to be back in LA for a wine tasting sometime that evening, so I dont want to piss of the :princess:

Got to pull a CEL code from today as well, so there's that caveat as well

Planning on 10 or 11 in the AM at the turnoff from 138. I'll post a decision on that one soon :)

BTW, I'd be pissed if I missed a tasting too.

I'm in

Please give me details on time and place to meet. When my friends and I do a day trip; we still do some sort of BBQ on the trail.

Since I'm new to this board, what do you guys usually do for food & drinks?

I'd say pack a lunch...?

Planning on 10 or 11 and I'll decide between the two soon :D

Meeting at the turn off from 138 (check the earlier posts for a link I posted with the location)

see ya there!

Code 71....

Right now I'm tentative on making it.

I drive a 60 with a Vortec, so I don't know FZJ80 codes, but don't feel pressured either way.

No worries, its something with the EGR, I need to read up on it and get the FSM out.

I'll let you know one way or the other sometime next week.

Update for me. What a downer. All planning on going, was even going to procrastin8 the mechanical issue to go, but we got back in town tonight after a week away only to find out a friend had passed away and they're having a service for her here on the 26th, 11:00 AM.

I'm so bummed. Count me out unless things change dramatically.

Dan.

My condolences. Being with friends and family in this situation should ALWAYS take priority.

Don't worry about missing it, there will always be more trips.

OK, do we have a meeting time yet

And to confirm, it's this Saturday, correct?

If you're taking votes, I'd vote for an earlier time rather than later. I have to be at an event that evening, so any idea what time we could get off the trail, back at the 15?

thanks

Dana

Why don't we call it 10:30 at the turnoff from HWY 138. That way we can get through quite a bit, then if anyone needs to split, they can just continue on the fire road towards I-15. I'd say we could do most of the harder parts, have lunch, and still be off the trail by 2:30 or 3:00 without feeling rushed. We could of course spend longer, but four hours seems about right to me.

And yes, this Saturday would be the day.

cheers!

Hey guys, I'll be visiting SanDiego that weekend. Doesn't look too far away for a day trip (~2.5hrs.).

Would a FJ60 w/ 33's, OME lift and ARB front & side bars (my rental car) be OK for this trail? No locker or winch.
