Hi all can someone tell me why I have a twin element bulb in the side lights. I know one element is for the side lights but the other one?

Was it for indicator lights in certain models?

The side light element is the only one I can get switched on.

It’s called the “cornering lamp” and illuminates when the turn signal is activated if the headlights are on.
