Drives like a truck now instead of a Buick Lesabre. Honestly, this suspension rides just as smooth as the factory suspension over small bumps and dips in the highway. It's more rigid in the recoil, which I feel is a better ride than factory. The factory suspension has a lot of body roll around corners and does ride like a cloud, but not how I like to feel driving. Has no body roll now around corners.

Haven't taken it off-road yet, but soon. Drove 250 miles last night to visit family and got 13 mpg. Not much different from the normal fuel economy.

Ok, lift all complete and whatnot but I need some help with an issue. My tech is going to diagnose it tomorrow at work, but I'm having a fairly loud droning noise in speeds between 34-42 MPH.

There's no wobble with the steering, all the suspension components are solid. They seem to think I need a diff drop, but the people at Slee said it is not needed or recommended with the OME 2" lift factory load with UCA's.

Everything I read didn't say there would be any issue with this lift kit. I have 275/70/18 BFG KO2's (same tire as before just a 33 instead of 31) and TRD Pro Tundra Wheels.

I drove 400 miles the weekend after the lift. The noise didn't occur between 0-32 or over 42 MPH When on the highway. Only time it occurred is when slowing down from a high speed or speeding up slowly. If I accelerated quickly through the 30-40 range, there was no droning sound.

Any advice or thoughts are appreciated.

Strange. All I have is a drift to the right while at freeway speeds. Tech says everything is in spec. We are going to cross front tires and give it a drive .

I may have him put my old wheels and tires on to rule out if it has something to do with the wheels/tires.

OEM wheeels and new Hankook Dyna Pro ATM tires. Strange, it drove perfect before the CV boot was replaced. I think it's a tire issue. I used a dealer because they where in the neighborhood and had a "off road guy". I should have gone to Glenn's alignment in Costa Mesa. I would not be having these stupid problems. First time I've used a dealer in 20 years. First time, last time.

with the hum/noise happening a such a specific speed, I would suspect a tire balance issue.
accelerating/braking faster just reduces the time the offending wheel is at its harmonic state of unbalance.

if your tech cant get to it right away, try swapping the wheels front to back. see if the noise changes/moves.

This was exactly the issue!!! Thanks a ton. Big relief lol just need some $20 trim.

They didn't even think to check the roof rack. My coworker knew exactly the issue before I could even finish the story.

Nice to have such helpful people on this forum ready to help.

Could you describe the droning noise sir?

On the chance it's not your suspension, read this:

We swapped the front tires and drift is gone.
Glad your issue was a simple one.

I actually read your build thread before deciding what to do with mine. I appreciate the info I got to read. I forgot, what lift did you end up putting on? We had a couple sets of factory 18" wheels from Land Cruiser's we'd put Tundra TSS wheels on, and I almost considered powdercoating them like you did. They look really nice.

But I ran across a deal on some 5,000 mile old TRD Pro Tundra 18" wheels and had to jump on them.

Sorry. It's early

I want with Tough Dog. Jason @ Trail Tailor hooked me up. I have his sliders as well.
I PC'd the OEM wheels because I had not seen them done by anyone else and I get a great price on the Powdercoating from Kings Powder Coating.
What are the pro/con of a rack system like yours compared to a cargo box on stock rails like mine?

Trail Tailor has some nice equipment on their website. I need to get some sliders. How do you like them? The factory running board does not go with the style, nor can they take a beating.

Jealous of your headlights. I'm wanting to get some of the newer headlights to swap out.

The pros of the Prinsu rack for my situation are that is supports a heavier load with easier stability. I'll never really put anything extremely heavy on top, but the idea of adding a collapsible roof top tent is a nice pipe dream that may never happen. I did strap down a mattress and box springs yesterday haha and it looked like a monstrosity. I also like the aesthetics of the Prinsu rack. It's much more aggressive and larger than the factory, but only sits about 1" taller from the roofline. Someone added 2 extra cross bars to the factory roof rack on theirs and it actually looked pretty cool.

The only issue I had was the vibration due to weather stripping needing to be added on the bottom of the front wind shield. Some people have commented that they think the rack is too big; I've simply told them their rack is just too small lol. Most people think it's badass and unique. Some mounting hardware is needed for the top rails (which they offer online; simply have not ordered it yet), because the Prinsu rack is so low profile that it is difficult to find tie down points.

Your system is going to be much more aerodynamic. The Prinsu rack mounts to 8 total points. I believe the factory one only mounted to 3 that I could see, unless the other 2 mounting plates were just hidden. I'll have to double check that.

I think I'll stay with the factory rack. I don't need such a rack system at this time. I do have a small rack that I can fix to the stock system of needed.
Thanks brah!
