I have an O2 series 100. Recently there’s a knock under the floorboard on acceleration and sometimes when I brake, I can’t feel anything loose when I have crawled under the truck and looked. What could this be?

When was the last time slip joints were greased ? I had the same issue , after I greased slip joints it went away. There are a bunch of YouTube videos about on how to do it.

I’ve got one for you, I’ve got the same knock on acceleration and braking…. But only and I mean only, when wet. If it’s dry out and there is no moisture, nothing. Probably 75% of the time when it’s wet it’s making the knock. Worth noting, all BJs, UCAs, bearings and bits, flanges, and steering rack including outter TREs, have been replaced on the last year or less.

Do you have sliders? If so, check the clearance, the frame brachets can sometimes be close enough to the floor to bump and cause what you are feeling.

To expand on this: if you have steps, make sure the treads ain't comin up. The passenger side step tread on my UZJ100 was comin up and makin a crazy thumpin sound while drivin. It sounded like somethin under the rig, not the tread on the side. I pulled it up, cleaned it off, reattached it and no more noise.

I had a clunk that sounded like a bad balljoint for a few months, tested the joints and they were still OK, checked everything suspension several times and thought I'm not applying enough force on the joints and bushings to duplicate the clunk..

Well, it ended up being a loose bottom shock bolt. A quick half turn and it went away. Yay!
