So i cleaned these connectors as best i could. Used contact cleaner and was very carefull with the smaller pins; however I believe some of those smaller pins have been damaged by the corrosion. I put everything back together and everyhing seems to be working fine except the audio system is now dead, dead. Navigation is working, but zero audio. Checked the fuse for the audio in the engine compartment and it is fine.
Questions: Are these connectors replaceable? Alternatives/options?
These connectors are on the driver side and there is 3 of these square looking ones, there are other “simpler looking” connectors in the vicinity. Any diagram showing what each of those connectors actually connect?
Part numbers? Any and all ideas suggestions welcome.
Please remeber to clean out you sun roof drain holes 🤬
Thanks in advance for your imput

I’m trying to figure out how so many folks end up with clogged sunroof drains.

When are these drains getting clogged with crud?

Do I just not use mine enough? Seems like the only time they could get crud in there is in use...but who would use them when stuff is flying in there? A serious question I am curious about.

Are they being used in drizzle? Or... what exactly.
My truck is 12 years old and no issues...so honestly wonder.

Any clues?

0n my ‘13 last year the passenger side actuator went out. $ Not long after that, the driver side actuator went out $$. Now the left rear passenger actuator is out. It will stay that way for a long time!
The part for the door actuators are not that expensive and it is not that hard to replace yourself, just fiddly work with many little steps.

In my case I guess it makes sense. My truck is not garaged and it does not rain very much around here, except for this winter. So it collects a lot of dust and gunk and with the 2 big/long storms this winter drains clogged up. I should have noticed before since the area around the kickboard was damp after the big strom earlier in he year. Having gone throuh this, it does not seem to be an uncommon occurence. Found posts on this forum about it and videos on youtube on how to clean the drains. It also affects other models like 4runners. It also seems that Toyota is aware of the fact that this does happen

Just about every sunroof, irregardless of the vehicle maker, uses drains like these. In newer vehicles that are littered with wires, they can overflow into critical electrical connectors, apparently. Older vehicles, you're feet just get wet or your floorpans, cowl or rockers will rust (see my spare parts-car in my driveway)

Here's the drain in an E30 (not mine).

I guess what I'm really asking is...WHEN is so much water getting into the drain to begin with?

Are people driving around during rain or drizzle with their sunroof open?
Not trying to sound funny or sarcastic. I just honestly wonder when it's getting in there.
