Yep bend in arm is normal (the dimple). Just bend the spindle back by putting the kaymar on the truck and then attaching a strap around it to a tree. I wouldn't bother with replacing it. It's going to be real damn hard too get a replacement spindle. I've talk to Steve at Man-a-fre and said they can order it but its a complete kit and it's $$$$. "IF" he can still get it. Oh yeah and i know people that have tried trailer shops, its a oddball size for some reason and they dont have it.. from what i've been told. Im betting the swing out is just fine.. One time i bought a used swingout that was on Brentbba's truck and it worked just fine. It too was hit. Yes, The bumper bolts right over the cross member, no cutting required. Did you get the steal plates that go inside the frame rails? and the steel spacers?

Well, that's certainly good news about the swingout. I was fearing major fab work.

Would it weaken the spindle significantly if I just heated it up, dropped the swingout back on it with the bearings in place and "leaned" (dead blow hammer or long prybar) on it a little? Seems this would be the easiest way to ensure that the top and bottom bearings lined up centerline to centerline. I have to replace all the bearings and races anyway.

FWIW I agree. Heat it reinstall the bad bearings if possible and bend back. Swap new bearings, done.
