Anyone had any work done by Adventure-motors in Lee's Summit Mo?

I'm looking for a suspension installed for my 200.

I am looking for a shop too. I purchased 200 in November and have two boxes of Kings waiting for install in garage. Good response from adventure motors but a little steep. I reached out to KC Customs in the Northland with much better quote with tires. In Costa Rica but will be back this week and would be glad to share notes on shops. Would also like to bend your ear on your build.

I'm up in Nebraska and its slim pickings here. There are zero shock rebuild places here in Omaha FWIW.

I would post to the Tornado Alley Cruisers in the clubhouse section, I bet you’ll get some good input on local shops that can do the work.

great tip. Thanks! I forgot that group existed. There was already a thread on this topic.

+1 for KC Customs. They put my sliders on and were very reasonable and easy to work with. I've talked with them about suspension upgrades and rear bumper install and they seemed very knowledgeable.

What part of the Northland are you in? I saw a nice, silver 200 series the other day in Parkville area I hadn't seen around before. Maybe we should have a 200 series meet up some day. Suspension is probably next thing on my list. Would love to see how yours and @kcjaz end up and how/where installs were.

I’m in Springfield. Keep me posted if you do a KC area meet up, might have to take a road trip!

Yep, probably me. There is one other silver in the Nat. I don't believe he has the same plans for his 200. Born and raised in Weatherby currently live in Parkville. I literally have two boxes of suspension currently in garage. Waiting for the purchase to wear off on wife to sneak in tires with only one alignment. I'll pm you with my contact info. My son (a big 5) and I hit up breakfast every weekend at the normal spots when wife is working. Might get together to talk shop.

@Tommy Dwyer : My in-laws live in Springfield and spend a good amount of time there over the year. Would love to meet up and get your recommendations regarding trails in that area. From what I can tell not much wheeling close to KC without a few hours drive.

Are either of you guys planning on going to LCDC6? I’ve signed up but am still trying to work out if u can really go. It would be cool to convoy out with other KC area 200s.

I wish I could. Summer is always super busy at work, so trying to plan time off is difficult.

I'm in the midwest and these guys get a lot of attention...I did try to call them multiple times and their customer service is not good. Their pricing, when I was able to get it, was higher than anyone else's too. They seem to be more interested in their used auto market, IMO.

There is a group called GP Customs in Lincoln, NE. They will do just about ANYTHING.

Would love nothing more but have a week trip planned to Sheboygan Wisconsin in September. Wife would kill me.

I live in Parkville as well. No LC currently, but I have a deposit on a 2020 coming into Jay Wolfe. It should actually be here sometime within the week. I haven't driven a '16+ LC yet, so I'm trying hard to tell myself be objective when it comes in.

My only potential hesitation is the the LC coming into Jay Wolfe is *black* with Terra interior. Love the Terra interior, and I think black looks great on LC when clean, but I'm worried about it always looking dirty etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good shop that does PPF and ceramic coating? Per google, there are a few places with high reviews. I like the looks of KC Elite Car in Olathe. Pricing appears to be on the higher end of the spectrum. I don't mind paying if its quality but also would love to hear anyone's experience doing PPF or ceramic coating in the KC area.

Whoa, three 200's within a 3 mile radius likely certifies this as a club. Starting to see some tax advantages if we start a not-for-profit club here. :) I reached out to @Bizzles80 who bought his rig around same time but is on faster pace for mods. Congrats on the new 200 you won't regret it. I had a black GX460 before the silver 200. Yes, it will look dirty from time to time but gives you a reason to get out of the house, wash it, or apply more dirt. I definitely recommend some protection on the hood. Mine is pre-owned and had clear bra from new. There are deep chips in the bra typical of flying rocks here in the midwest. The rocks pierced the bra in one spot but left paint undamaged. Without it, the rock would have gone through the paint. Honestly, if I were buying new I would not leave the dealership without some some of protection on at least the front portion of hood.

I have been looking on this forum for recommended paint protection. I recall a post by @Eric Sarjeant recommending the xpel combined with ceramic coating. Definitely going to look into more coverage in the future. FWIW, there are two installers on 3M page both in OP:

Midwest Tinting INC
7755 Shawnee Mission Pkwy

and

Auto Glass & Tint Shop
9928 W. 62nd Terrace
Merriam KS

Good luck on your purchase and keep us posted who you use for the paint protection.

My 200 is black with tan interior. I’ve mostly blacked it out by channeling my inner teenager and applying several cans of plastidip. My wife’s car a black RAV. I can verify that black gets dirty fast. If you just gotta have that showroom look, you will be washing weekly or more. I did that for about the first year, then I decided to just appreciate the dirt look and give her a bath monthly or so. Also, getting that first ding, while traumatic, ultimately leads to a less stressful life...

Yeah, congrats on the upcoming new 200! We will need to figure out a special wave when we all see each other on the road.

The PCA car club I'm in has done some tech events at the Midwest Tint in Lee's Summit. They come highly recommended by a lot of guys in that group for PPF. I spoke to them about redoing my clear bra on my other car, and also paint correction and ceramic, and they pointed me to Extreme Detail in Olathe for the latter. I see Extreme Detail has PPF listed on their website now, but don't know if they still do it in conjunction with Midwest Tint like they did a couple years back when I was inquiring. I did not have any service done by either, but met with Extreme Detail and had them give me a quote. They were great to talk to and I would have had them do the work, but decided to just start waxing my car myself and since have gotten an orbital buffer and paint corrected it myself. I do still need to get my PPF replaced, as it's coming up on 10 years old, which was about the lifespan back then.

If you have any plans to off road the new rig, I would suggest PPF over the whole thing (or at least the sides and front). That stuff is cool! When you get scratches in it all you have to do is park it in the sun and it will "heal" itself. I looked into it after I got my first trail pin striping. Otherwise I've heard ceramic makes washing a breeze and definitely keeps it looking cleaner, longer.

Best of luck! Let us know what you do.

How did the plastidip go? Did you get rid of all the chrome? I am looking at doing that to mine on Saturday.

The plastidip is really easy and turned out ok.
