K&N versus OEM

I have run K&N before on other cars/motorcycles and they "seem" to breathe better. What would/have you run in your OEM air cleaner for an FJ40/60. Is it worth the extra money?

I have a K N that was from my 80 that amazingly fit my wagon before the v8 and will probably go back in the 45 when I swap stuff around. I like that they are reusable thus cheaper after about 2 washes.

I've run them both on my old 40 and my current 80 series. While they may flow better overall I'm not impressed by the amount of dirt that makes it past the filter or the oil film on the flapper door and temp sensors in the intake tract. I have been very happy running my OEM filter and the best part is it too is washable.
