Just this once, I wished my cruiser was a gasser....

So true. I try to remember that every time I pay au$200 to fill up my Cruiser. If I was in the UK it would cost me $500. However, it still sh*ts me nonetheless because in the back of my mind I know that it would only cost me $80 to fill up back home.:D

Hell, I think if it was 200 that'd be the end of the cruiser era for me. Comes a point where impractical just gets too $$$.

Even at the present prices I miss the little hotrod diesel scirocco I had...all rebuilt with big turbo and fuel turned in as far as it would go, meth injection...

went like a raped ape, made huge black smokeshows if you wanted to get rid of tailgaters and still got 60 mpg...

Trouble was I could barely get into the damn thing:lol:

I think if it honestly got to that and it was substantially more expensive than gas I would probably start looking at saving money by not driving often and keeping it for more of a weekend thing
Heck getting something more economical or start carpooling

Everything costs so much here that I really don't take much notice of $200 to fill a tank. I spend $400 each week on groceries and $1,000 per year just to register my Cruiser (I pay $600 per year to register my motorcycle...).

Australians have gotten so used to paying top dollar for everything that they just don't take much notice of the cost of things.

Whenever I go home I stock up on things like clothes, toothpaste, vitamins and car stuff as it costs many times more here. I bought tires in California and shipped them to myself and they cost far less than the same tires cost here at the shop.

Now that we have the carbon tax, it is only set to get worse... and that's before I pay for my health insurance, which costs more than in the US.

all that's missing is the Daily Dougal vs Dip**** Debate , with some numerical minutiae on one side and beetle browed stupidity on the other...
