i had a feeling you would ask this...lol... its debateable :)

SOR has some great photos as you see in the link above

I do know that replacement straps were coming as a military type spec khaki topping color (basically yellow looking) then fades very light tan (as you see with most cruiser)

new replacements were then coming out as an OD green #3 (AFAIK the sor straps are these... but.... their lighting is making them look darker than they actually were)

one manufactures natural colored webbing will look almost white... where as somebody else will look a very light tan. Then also somebodys khaki will look very green (like that of the od#3) and then sombodys khaki will look tan

If it were me I would make them a light tanish color :)

BTW cotton webbing will fade... it is untreated

Thanks Roger. I am guessing the cruisercorps are nylon.................. I like the canvas. Sometimes I wonder why I am so focused on original when I see so many big money 40's sell that are missing something or just not original at all. RM Auctions has had a few that are not all there sell for $80K plus in the last year..............however, they all have NICE paint jobs:cool:

I have new twist locks - I could probably have a rattlecan mixed up to match the color and spray the fastener eyelet and end tip and then clear coat them... Find the correct webbing color and things could get interesting... Would be really expensive straps but if enough are produced would bring the cost down some.

Thanks for that! Shipping kills the deal with them - if I ordered 100 the tips cost $48, shipping is $60.24. Yikes! Need to find a U.S. based source. I've reached out to a couple of companies about the webbing and the tips we'll see what they have to say.

I see some tooling online too to do these things right. Will have to make a small investment in those too if this happens.

I checked beechwood and they do have the black common fasteners and black tips

They are fast turnaround from what I ordered in the past... But that was like 9 years ago
 
Okay Trivantage looks like it may work! They are closed for Good Friday tomorrow, but I was able to talk to someone about pricing and they are reasonably priced with breaks at 25 and 100 quantities. Now just need those samples to see what color works.

Does anyone have the size of the brass grommet?
 
Trivantage also has the grommets ... In brass

#0 is 11.5mm outside x 6mm inside X 5.5 mm deep

#00 is 9mm outside X 4.5 mm inside X 5 mm deep
