I like fly fishing, not boring like trolling :) I am not a "guru" by far.. just like to fish (catch a couple kokanee's :) )

Sweet...those are the magic words. :D How about a trip up to the Roche Lake group for those of us that fish? May? There's a few little lakes back there that I would like to hit. Not too sure about the wheeling scenario, but I would imagine there's a little bit to do in that area.

Decided at last night's meeting. The trip will be to the Greystokes this weekend. I am working...:-(

But ya'll have fun!

OK, so whats the game plan? Who is leaving, when? Where are we meeting? Phil, were you going to post some directions to the meeting place?

I will be heading up early Friday morning, should be up there around 10-11AM.

Are we going to setup Base Camp for the whole weekend, or move around to a few different spots?

Do we have a head count? I only remeber seeing like 4 hands up at the meeting...

So what was the club consensus after the last meeting. I believe it was Kelowna/Greystokes was it not?
I havent seen any banter (or minutes) on it...and the holiday weekend is fast approaching.
I only ask because unlike my usual custom of wanting to go everywhere, I might actually make this trip!
Some friends of ours are going to be vacationing in Kelowna on the long weekend, and the plan was to visit them and get in some wheeling as well...yes...I'll get the Taco dirty..no scratches allowed tho! :ban:

Greystokes was the Plan, not sure where everyone is going to be meeting. Like ALWAYS I have to wrok thursday night, so I will be leaving friday morining.

Oh, if anyone else would like to join the convoy leaving on friday moring at around 6-7 AM in mission let me know, I only drive 100kph tops though..

depending on how my Thursday goes, I might meet up with you
I'm going to attempt to have my trailer ready as well.

Should be a rush as usual

We are leaving for GS on Thursday as well as it turns out. This would be a lot easier without the work thing interfering. Here's the directions: Head towards Kelowna on Hwy 97. Turn south on Hwy 33 ( there is only one way to go, there is a Chevron station on the SW corner). Follow Hwy 33 until you come to 3 Forks road. This road will be on the left hand side, just after you cross a small bridge. Continue up 3 Forks, staying on GS main. I will try to meet people at a bridge crossing, about 10 miles down GS main. If you don't see me there, continue up the road and take your first right hand turn. You should be heading up hill, with some lazy (and not so lazy) switchbacks. When you see some corrals you know you are on the right track. Keep following the road up. Keep an eye out on your right side for the snowmobile cabin, it's set back about 100 meters. If you come to a delapitated cabin, and a bit of a clearing, you just missed it. I will be on CB channel 4. Not sure about cell phone reception (604)880-3410. If you can give me any ETA's that would help a lot.

not sure when we'll be leaving. Looks like saturday sometime. I have an install to oversee as usual on a long weekend, but we are still planning to head to Kelowna sometime!

So as I remember it...people were gonna camp near that skidoo shack and have day runs out of that base camp? And when was the majority of the masses heading back to the greater Vancouver area?

Jeff

I'll be leaving sometime on Friday, most likely around noon
no trailer though, I didn't even get time to look at it

well, we almost did greystokes. Managed to make it to Kelowna anyways. I should just headed straight there saturday evening, but it didnt happed and we ending up drinking instead at some friends.
But, we did do a little wheeling today up behind Summerhill Winery. Theres some powerlines and lots of play areas and the roads there go back into Penticton and Apex.
The Tacoma sure aint no Landcruiser thats for sure. Sections where i had to even engage the locker im pretty sure my 45 could do in 2wd. There is just no or very little flex in the suspension. But the ac cranked in 30 degree heat sure was nice. Took a few pics, some nice views of Kelowna/Westbank etc. I'll download them when we get back on Tues and post a couple.
On our way into Peachland on Saturday, there was a bj74 heading back west on 97c at Brenda mines with the 4ways flashing. Was that you Stone? Hope everything was okay.

Anyhoo..cya kids later.

Jeff

Hi Jeff: Nope...wasn't me, but thanks for the thought. You couldn't miss me if you saw me, I had Smurfette (my blue pram) strapped on my roof.

I didn't do any wheeling this weekend, but ended up using my PTO winch anyway. Muddy road + crappy tires + chatty driver = good times. :D
