Joining the FJ45LV Ranks

Well today I sealed the deal and am purchasing a FJ45LV from a guy here on the ih8mud board. Thanks to George (aka OrangeFJ45) I am obtaining a pretty solid wagon. I've always wanted one of these, and the opportunity happened to present itself when I was down for the PMC Swap Meet. I saw a FJ45LV there and was talking to George about how I always wanted one. He then told me of a great project that he knew about and forwarded me the info. According to the owner 99% of the small stuff is there that you don't find in the wagons and the rust is pretty minimal compared to most cases.

Only problem right now is that it is located in Southern California about 50 miles north of LA. So I might not be able to pick up the FJ45LV till November when I attend Surf 'N Turf '07.

Anyways my initial plans for this rig is to keep the body stock and fix all the rust repair. Mechanical wise... well lets say not so Land Cruiser. Thinking 6.0L Gen III Vortec, 700r4 tranny, FJ60 split case, FJ62 axles, SOA, saginaw power steering, and 37" tires. No lockers or any of the sort just a mean looking daily driver. I already have my FJ40 rock crawler to go beat on the rocks.

Here are some pictures.

congrats bro!!!!! glad you and the seller were able to work out a deal. super stoked that this rig is staying "in the family".

i plan on going to socal in late sept, early oct. if and when i go, i can take the megacab and the trailer and bring it back up here. at least it'll be 400 miles further north. when's the "cruising in the woods" event? hopefully i'll be able to make it and bring the LV with me. you're gonna owe me......... :grinpimp:

George, Cruisin' the Woods is on the 28th and 29th of September. Cruisin' the Woods Registration Form.

I even got a reduced price on the deal in partial trade for some tube doors :grinpimp:

Yeah I'll definitely owe you big time if you can trailer it up north for me. Just no sexual favors

Man that is nice!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I had an LV.... do you mind if I ask what you paid for it? you can PM me if you want.... just trying to see what I could buy for what I $ I got....

Thanks!! and Congrats!!!

I got a screaming deal on it. The guy who sold it to me wanted to keep it in the family so to speak. Just wanted to see it go to a good home rather than just sell it to some random person on ebay or craigslist.

What better honey moon is there than going wheeling!?!?! Especially in another state :D

Man LT,

you get all the chicks, all the deals, and now this!

at least god has given you Helocat to balance your luck!
(Just kidding, I love you Mark)

Congrats brother 45 man!

what do you want for those hubcaps?

Orange, Congrats to you, hope you can make Cruisin the Woods, looks like it's shaping up to be the best year ever!

-Bill

Haha thanks Bill. My model ex g/f is trying to get back with me... don't know if I want to go back to that train wreck ;p

I think the owner is keeping the hub caps so I won't be able to sell those. I'm sure I will be having plenty of random parts to sell seeing that very little to nothing of the mechanicals will be original FJ45LV.

I will be attending Cruisin' the Woods. Mark and I just talked to Darrel and I will be spotting. Yeah I know its the end of the world. It will be fun spotting jeeps so that they get detained hehe. Mark and I are going up to TSF on Sunday for some trail scouting. We have this deal worked out with Toyota that I can't say much about. But if you would like to join us on Sunday you are more than welcome to.
