Joining the FJ45LV Ranks
Well today I sealed the deal and am purchasing a FJ45LV from a guy here on the ih8mud board. Thanks to George (aka OrangeFJ45) I am obtaining a pretty solid wagon. I've always wanted one of these, and the opportunity happened to present itself when I was down for the PMC Swap Meet. I saw a FJ45LV there and was talking to George about how I always wanted one. He then told me of a great project that he knew about and forwarded me the info. According to the owner 99% of the small stuff is there that you don't find in the wagons and the rust is pretty minimal compared to most cases.
Only problem right now is that it is located in Southern California about 50 miles north of LA. So I might not be able to pick up the FJ45LV till November when I attend Surf 'N Turf '07.
Anyways my initial plans for this rig is to keep the body stock and fix all the rust repair. Mechanical wise... well lets say not so Land Cruiser. Thinking 6.0L Gen III Vortec, 700r4 tranny, FJ60 split case, FJ62 axles, SOA, saginaw power steering, and 37" tires. No lockers or any of the sort just a mean looking daily driver. I already have my FJ40 rock crawler to go beat on the rocks.
Here are some pictures.
