Jdm obd2 and smog testing (1 Viewer)

Looking at 97 prado and wondering since it has obd2 is it compliant for deq in oregon or any other state smog tests with deq computers? Anyone run into issues registering?

I’m worried the ecus aren’t compliant and I live in an area that requires testing to reg. Have read stories the testing computers can’t read jdm ecus.

Hi,

As far as I know there was no OBD2 on JDM's until about 2009. I have tried finding a scanner to read codes from my Prado's with no luck.
My newest one was a 2002 and it didn't have it. If anyone knows different please let me know.

This is consistent with my info as well. Diesels seemed to get obd later than petrol.
