Introducing the first annual "Chilly Willy" boys night out Rampart camp out!

The holidays are over, the family is back to their own houses, and I have been craving a camping trip. Thought maybe there might be others who would like to come out and have some fun. I am planning on picking a bigger camp spot on Rampart and preparing for an event style campout. There will be a food, libations, and a probably overly large campfire. Also planned in the works, I will be bringing out a setup to watch some 4 wheeling videos, and probably a night 4x4 outing down 300U and 300V. Snow or not!

Bring lots of warm clothes and a really good sleeping bag...I will have my pop up camper with the heater running :)

Tentatively planning this for Saturday the 15th or possibly the 22nd. Ideas welcomed. I figure I will be up and out early in order to cut and secure some firewood, I have two grills to bring and will start cooking around dark (5ish).

Any interested parties get in touch with me and let me know what you think. Let's get out and have a good time! :cheers:

I'm thinking a reschedule on this trip. My wife gave me the stink eye when I mentioned the vehicle removal on Saturday. She wanted to know if I was planning on being home at all that weekend... I don't think she really wanted my answer ;p

I figure we will be in the woods a while on the 15th with the vehicle removal, then the trail ride is the 22nd. I will be making both of these events, so the time will be limited.

There was some pretty good feedback on this idea, I'll probably pick a weekend in February if the temps hold up. Even I'm not crazy enough to camp when it's in the teens--twenties, I can take. Justin and I were out playing in the snow Sunday night until midnight, and we learned that if you were within 5 feet of the fire, all good-- but you should make the pee trips to the trees short, because it gets cold very fast :)


Hopefully some of you that had plans can make it out next go around. :cheers:
 
Sunday night... Snow was actually pretty deep on Rampart. We went up Rainbow falls and 351, then headed all the way down Rampart. Fire was on 933. Strangely, we never saw anyone else.

i could be in for this one! i guess just keep me posted on exact night.. Last year was a good time..

i may need to catch a ride with somone, depending on how my cruiser is coming along. Got room in the camper?
