January Colorado Land Cruisers Meeting 1/13/2026

Please come to the club meeting at Rudy's Bar-B-Q, 315, S 31st St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Show up at 6:00 to eat dinner and socialize. We meet in the North West corner of the patio.
Meeting starts at 7:00. Buying food or drink is not required, just show up to socialize if you wish.

OFFICERS' REPORTS

• President:
  • Presented the meeting agenda.
  • Presented a 2025 year end summary.
• Vice President:
  • Forum page is updated.
  • Christmas tree patrol thread is updated with our patrol hours. Hours sent to Jake (USFS).
  • Schubarth Road trip thread created.
• Treasurer:
  • Finance report
  • Membership renewal requests sent out via email.
  • We have 12 active members.

OLD BUSINESS

• Reviewed Christmas tree patrol runs and Christmas party.
• Banner review. No specifics yet.
• Individual donations can be made to offset recent club contributions to the CO 4WD Assoc.
• Discussed nomination for Assoc. Person of the Year. No decision made.

NEW BUSINESS

• January’s trip will be to Schubarth Road.
• Officers’ elections for 2026:
  • President - Vic
  • Vice President - David
  • Secretary - Dave
  • Treasurer – Tim
  • We decided to elect officers at the annual Christmas party, since attendance is much higher than at our monthly meetings. LCPilot will create a forum thread in November to remind us all.
• LCPilot will attend a vehicle recovery class this spring and propose a session to pass on his learnings.
• By way of reminder, these are the upcoming trails we will run. There is an active thread for people to make recommendations for their preferred trail runs this year.
  • Feb. 21 - Cripple Creek Ice Festival. Roads TBD
  • Mar. 14 - Chinamen's Gulch & 4-Mile area trails. Pick and choose your preference.
  • Apr. 18 - Canon City area trails
• It was suggested that we change our meeting location occasionally to make it easier for people who drive long distances to be able to attend. Bring your ideas to the next meeting. LCPilot will create a thread.

It would be good to have suggestions for the parts of town that would help. It solves nothing, if we need locations further north, but we pick one further south, for example.
