Looks like it breaks new ground in a good way. Finally the fabric support hoops/poles appear to better support/tension the fabric for less/no wind flapping. I didn't see how thick the mattress is within the EP reviews; but didn't check the JB website for same. Lots of plusses but the one minus, shared by all fold-over tents of this design: Sleeping bag(s) or comforter must be hauled outside of the RTT. And, of course, the separate cover ...

But overall it sure looks like a nice RTT.

tents feature a thick, moisture-resistant 3" high-density foam mattress. Mattresses have a heavy duty zippered cover for easy removal and cleaning.

Having had an Autohome Overland 10+ years ago, I hated dealing with the typically dust covered cover. The soft/fabric covers apart of fold over style tents would be my biggest impediment for going down that path again. Wind, dust and vehicle/tent height make dealing with the cover less than exciting ;)

I'm not too worried about the vehicle/tent height. I'm looking to mount the tent to the top of my trailer, not even 5ft high

I read through those. They seem to like it. On a Facebook group page someone directed me to family on Instagram who has the tent. I sent them a message but doubt they will respond back. Either way, I put a deposit down on one. If all goes good I'll be picking it up in 3weeks. I think it will work out good.

Tent closed dimensions:
59x43
Trailer box:
68x39

^ Can't wait to see the pics and get some more real world feedback, if nothing more than casual curiosity.

I have hub adapters to put the OEM FJ wheels on and have to put the axle under the leaf springs

Unfortunately I decided to go the cheap route and I got the Smittybilt RTT. That and I didn't feel like drive 10+hrs round trip to get it. The Smitty will be here by Friday.
