Will slot in some pics shortly... Rats are eating my poor 55-alive!
Started in the space of 4 weeks, with my spark leads then vacuum hoses, radiator overflow, washer bottle, front and rear master cylinder fluid canisters (yes both in one night... i would have throught a face full of brake fluid would have saved the second canister...No...), and now my clutch fluid canister ... yet my Ford, VW and Nissan remain untouched!! Its offical, Rats prefere Toyota!

Go figure!!!

Have just learnt bloke down the street having the same problem with his FJ60

Agreed. The 55 I bought had a bout 20 pounds of rat turds in it to go with the chewed seats, rubber boots, hoses, moldings, etc., etc.. So apparently Toyotas taste good to rats world wide.

Howdy! Try coating the rubber goodies with ArmorAll or some such product for protecting rubber. Won't make it chew-proof, but it might taste pretty nasty to the rats. Or go down to the local pet shelter and adopt a new mascot or two!! John

when I first got hold of the fj55 i just sold, the whole engine bay was filled with twigs, leaves, fur, and seat foam/padding (anything useful in nest building). The little bastard packed it in so tightly, that the nest was perfectly contoured to the bottom of the hood when I opened it...

Couldn't see any part of the motor... not even the air cleaner.
