Its official...I took over my wife's 2000 LC

Well I finally inherited my wife's 2000 LC with almost 93,000 miles on it. We've owned it since day one and it's been a great cruiser. I had it detailed inside and out today and it's amazing what those guys can do. They almost ("almost") erased five years of abuse from it being our family wagon (three kids). It's Black with Tan interior.

I've done a few minor fixes/mods. Replaced the antenna mast and spool, added the Alpine cd player and routed the mp3 caple up through the center consol pocket insert. Other than that, it's stock.

Where can I get some Ih8mud window stickers?

I've got a cracked windshield to replace and then the running boards come off.

From there we'll have to see......

I'd love to upsize to bigger tires, but the ones on there have plenty of tread left. Can you get anything ($) for used tires with decent tread left??

I've got my eye on the slee rear bumber but keep going back and forth over whether or not to go with the swing out tire carrier, or just leave the tire where it is.

Anyhow, I'm pumped to finally be the official driver of our land cruiser.

Welcome to the 100 crew. Stick some 285's on and go. Get the wallet warmed up 'cause it's gonna get a work out. Might have to sell that Bronco too. What do you you need 2 V8's for anyway? Get ready for 100K service and starter rebuild.

Why pull off the running boards?

Do these tend to break when off roading?

Running board is subject to bend easily when offroading because the board connection hung a bit too low.

It only take about a hour to take both off.

I like the way the LC looks without them. Gives it a higher off the ground look. I Will eventually get some sliders.

clinical studies have shown that having running boards is a sure sign of testosterone deficiency. Thankfully, this is easily fixed by strong intake of ethanol and XY chromosones-oriented glossy paper monthly publications...

The other thing that the running boards hide is a vibration dampner on the frame on the passenger side. I posted a question and found out that most have taken them off. So I was in getting the oil changed and had it taken off by a toyota tech and can't tell that it is not there.
