Does anybody has the specs for ITM camshaft 056-4515 for the F engines? Called a couple businesses that sell it but no info. Emailed ITM directly and they don't have the specs. Said its a stock replacement for all F engines. Mellings also sell a stock replacement camshaft but it has different specs than the original cams. Guess I am over thinking it.

Interested to hear this conversation. I’m also considering a Melling or itm cam.

Itm is apx $148 shipped on Rockauto.com
Melling is apx $240 whipped from Northern auto parts (pn MC-803)

Does anyone have longer term experience (20k miles+) with either?

Called ITM. Should get specs next week. Will post what info I get. It's either made in China or Taiwan and they sell quite a few.

FYI. You can pick up a Melling Can from autozone for $205 shipped if you use coupon code 20savebig20... not sure how long it is good. You also get a $20 off of $125 future purchase.

just ship your cam and lifters to Delta Camshaft in WA...my to my door cost was 141 bucks for a freshly ground cam and lifter set. you can have your choice of profile, as well. I currently run the KC289 which is a 262* duration cam. Next time, I'll try his stock regrind...

I just did that. Me being a big stupid idiot changed my mind again. I am going to install TBI fuel injection now. That fresh cam is not computer compatible.

That fresh cam is not computer compatible.

This sounds odd to me. Why is the combo of this cam and TBI no bueno? Is it a matter of what will work with the readily available tune? I run this cam with a 2FE and it works well (3FE Computer and injection).

I am using AFI injection components. I did send them the cam specs and their reply was it will not work. They said to use a stock cam. Have been thinking about buying a used cam and send it to Delta to be reground.

@wngrog did you use a stock profile cam with your AFI set up?

To the OP, plenty of guys with 3fes are running the kc289. If the OEM Ecu can handle the small bump in duration, the aftermarket unit ought to be able to keep up, too... if it can’t, I’d consider it not worthy...

FWIW, here's some 2F cam specs:
Intake Duration Exhaust Duration Intake Lift Exhaust Lift
Stock Cam 228 degrees 264 degrees .367 .372
Downeys Torquer Cam 214 degrees 214 degrees .440 .440
Downeys H.P. Cam 224 degrees 224 degrees .430 .430

Back in the day Downey Cams were made by Clay Smith Cams using brand new billets, we had to order 10 pieces minimum, so they are not a possible supplier for individuals- - -but I guess you could ask???

How can the cam not be computer compatible????? That makes little sense. It mean, the change from stock can't be that significant.

With a custom tune in the chip it would work. I will be using AFI's chip and it's setup for the stock cam. Before I bought the AFI components I seriously considered installing an EBL into my computer and doing a custom tune.

ITM got back to me. Their cam is an exact copy of the 2F cam.
