Last year, I had an incident where I damaged the pathetic factory roof rails. Had to cut them off due to spinning nutserts, and started the journey of full removal. Fast forward, started looking for a replacement rig, nothing on the market was doing it for me...too much tech, and honestly most felt disposable. I purchase this LC in 2008 from a client in Santa Clarita, no wreaks, no rust, and always serviced. Wife looks at me and says, paint her and when the engine goes V8 swap her. She is back from paint and now I am putting back all the bits, my why....clean then install, inspect and replace. The last comment might anger some on mud, but I do not plan to take her to the woods, she is now a town and country Cruiser. Might see a field or tow a trailer / boat. I can say its worth every penny to keep this rig on the road.

webster2001, It's been over 30 years since i had my 1969 SS 396 El Camino repainted, and at that time it cost me over 6 grand. So what's the going price now a day's for a paint job?

Today was getting some of the interior back together had some sound deadening from a previous project so so lined the doors and added new OEM plastic vapor barriers on all doors. Lubricated the window tracks and gears

$8k stripping down yourself. Something I was planning any for deep cleaning and a few sound tiles or the rear. Toyota loves their holes for guide pins on trim pieces.

3 years ago, windows out, bare metal prep, very little body work, Moon Glow Pearl. $20,000. Of course it was more than quoted originally. Looks great, overall happy with it. Would I do it again.....

Man that is a nice rig. Having a smooth top give me more rack options. Did you tint over the privacy glass?
Thanks, I had clear glass all around, new 3M all around plus sun roof.
