69 the 40/55 two barrel carburetor have a stud coming out of the top of the carburetor. This carb was only used on the later style two barrel. 10/69 air cleaner went back to clamp style. Best bet is to find a 69 model air cleaner for the two barrel. The FJ40 and FJ55 share the same air cleaner from what I'm seeing.

Does your carburetor have a stud coming out the top.?

Yes

You have the correct air cleaner. I show 12224-60031 as the correct insulator for between the intake manifold and carburetor. Of course it's NLA. Never owned a 69 of any month. But have 68 with the wide intake. Because the that changed at the same time as the carburetor and air cleaner without a visual inspection hard to say if the level the carburetor mounted changed or height of the carburetor changed. Intake manifold, insulator, carburetor and air cleaner all changed part numbers after 9/69

Took the vent down and plugged it with JB
Thought I would try this before I buy the Spector 100.00 spacer for the 69

After the rebuild and plugging the vent

Runs great

I've purchased the Sor spacer and it's not that great of quality (it strips out really easy/failing) and because I like buying/doing things twice I ordered the Redline one. I'd give Justin a call at Redlinelandcruisers for an infinitely better quality product.
