Is this hub broken?

I'm starting a knuckle rebuild and when I pulled the passenger side hub from the hub body, the gear portion just flopped over. It looks like the gear is only attached by 2 of the 4 springs. The gear on the other side is attached by 3 of 4 springs. It this supposed to be like this, or is it broken? If it's broken, I would assume it's better to just replace the hubs rather than try and fix them?

It does look like something is amiss with the spring attachment. You'll have to clean and compare to the springs that are still attached. If you can't resolve the attachment issue they still may work with just the the 2 springs attached. I found this video which may give you some help in the rebuild.

Thanks for the link to the video! I'll get the hub cleaned up and do a better inspection, like in the video.
