I have a 64ish hard top with a small vent at the top. It was originally an AZ truck. I asked a very knowledgable cruiserhead buddy who used to live in AZ, and he said he saw a few of these when he lived there. I have the little hard top too FWIW. The top is in really good shape too actually.

So my question is, is this OEM, a dealer option, or something else???

Thanks Johnny. Thats what I was thinking too, but I couldn't find any documentation/diagrams to support this. I think it was only made for a year or so? If anyone can confirm 1964, that would be good.

Those are neat! Like I said, I couldn't see any schematics or pics of one. It was on a 64, but I am guessing the hard top is slightly earlier based on what your info.

I have one on a 40 with a Jan. 1964 build date, and a brass tag T-65. Need to restore it, great amounts of caulking went into efforts to seal it shut by POs.

Wow. That's very cool. Didn't know that it's OEM.
Any ideas on who might be willing to repair/rebuild such a part? Some edges of the metal cap and hinge part are gone. I pondered slicking off the hole entirely with fiberglass but now i really want to save the vent.

So cool! I learned something new.
