Is this drop side bed original?

I am looking to purchase this pickup here in Bolivia but was wondering if the truck bed could possibly be original. It is attached on wood to the frame and I have seen nothing like it anywhere on the web. The plate says it is Japanese as opposed to Brazilian. Any guesses would be appreciated. I want a truck to pass to my kids and original would be ideal.

I used to have one like it on my 45. I bought it from a toyota lite ace truck very common in japan. Probably not original, but very common in australia and they were mounted on wood.

thank you Whitey 45, you are so right. It sure seems practical, and looks actually quite cool, but I really would have loved it if would have been original.

I would buy that in a hart beat and pull the timber and drop the tray down a few inches it would look great. It's a rare toyota tray back thats period to the 45. Buy it as the cab looks very clean as well.
