Is the 200 just badly undergeared?

The gearing in the 2016 I have seems fine to run up to 35's. I have a 16.

The reason to re-gear would be if you want to add a front locker. The 2016+ comes with "thick gears", so the front ARB locker will not fit. The front locker needs a thin gear set to fit inside the differential. The rear ARB locker fits with both the thick and thin gear sets, but not the front.

There maybe a front locker that fits without re-gearing to a thin gear set, but I have not found it.

I know this isn't re-gearing, but make sure your '17 has the latest reflash of the ECU/transmission. T-SB 0209-17 is what to reference but the calibration ID should be at least 895366011400 but I believe the last 3 digits is up to 500 now. I don't think this will completely cure what ails you on your regearing, but it makes the truck much more enjoyable to drive.

no coincidence- pretty good overall land cruiser presence here- great support from groups, dealers, and indy shops as well. great off road options for fun at all levels.
On a side note, i moved here about 3 years ago and work in Broomfield as well. Happy to be a sounding board if you need any unbiased input. Its a great part of the country to be in.
We are full, we don't need anyone else. In fact, I hear Texas is great. You should consider relocating there and taking multiple California transplants with you...

As a Texas Native, I can tell you it IS great here. However, we *do not* require any California transplants... Sorry guys, but stay there and fix your state! ;)

Lol, I've lived in Texas. Wasn't bad. Pretty on par with CA for taxation really. The outrageous property tax is just a backdoor state tax. CO comes out around a percent better than CA in my situation, all taxes considered. If it's policy, I'm a retired Marine from PA who lives in the most conservative county in CA, Kern. There really are three separate states here idealogically. But I'm sure it's frustrating receiving droves of coastal transplants that impact your politicians.

Some of us aren’t actually crazy...but the state refs and laws are definitely too far gone now. Every few weeks it seems something else I own has been made illegal...sigh... My uncle can’t build even a garage on his 100 acre property without jumping through a zillion hoops...

But I was born in South America to a dad who spent childhood years in Denver...
So...
Maybe I could be grandfathered in... :hillbilly:

Cali always has crazy rules.... Great place for off roading though. Thousand miles of trails, and millions of hectors of forest and BLM land.

Can't have a 10+ round clip, or carry concealed with out jumping hoops .. but open carry is perfectly legal out there.

Is open carry not legal on public land in CO?
