for someone who is 6'7" tall to "comfortably" fit in a FJ45 lwb? I currenly have a '73 FJ40 that is okay in the legroom department, but is too original to modify without feeling guilty. I am thinking about selling it and I really want a FJ45. Anyone have experience with this? Any tips or advice to make it happen?

As Ghetto said, see if someone local to you will let you try theirs out.
Comfort is a matter of perspective--a Mercedes these are not--luxury wasn't on Toyota's build sheet.
Long trips in any vehicle can become uncomfortable, and these are quite cramped.
That said, their are ways of increasing leg room with channel added to the seat bottom rails, padding can be removed from both the seat bottom cushion and/or back, TLC in Van Nuys swears by the BMW seats they use, other folks swear by the replacement seats they have retro-fitted.
I guess it all depends on how badly you want to drive one of these, and your version of comfort.
If you post your city/state, I'm certain one of the good people reading this will let you look at their truck.
Good luck !

I'm in Richardson, TX (DFW area). My FJ40 isn't exactly comfortable, but that's the price I'm willing to pay to drive one. If a 45 is anything like a 40, then I am sure I can suck it up and make due.

Anyone in the DFW area willing to let me sit in their 45? I'd like to test it out before I pull the trigger.

I am 6'2" and fit. I would not want to drive cross country however. Where are you located, your welcome to try mine out. I also have a automatic.:)

Mike

What Mike didn't mention is that his FJ45 still has BLOCKS OF WOOD under the factory seats to change the seat angle [gives more leg room?] that some PO installed. I'm still wondering what he's gonna say when he pulls that wood out!;p

I am 6'3, and to make matters worse I am long in the torso. I have approximately 1.5" to the roof of the cab and basically look out the top 4" of the windshield frame.

and BTW, I think this topic has been covered before.;)
