have an '04 100 w/o AHC.. looking to replace suspension. Between IM foam cell pro 2" and OME sport 1.5". I know both are respected companies, just looking for some suggestions.

Also, whats the difference between the stage 1, 2 and 3 for the IM kit?

Some are fine with OME shocks, others think that they're too stiff. (I fall into the OME shocks suck camp, and would lean Tough Dog or Ironman)

Stage 1
TOY050 Torsion Bars (one set)
Rear coil springs (one set)
45795FE Front Foam Cell PRO shocks (2)
45796FE Rear Foam Cell PRO shocks (2)
BRACKET100 Landcruiser 100 Series Control Arm Reinforcement (1)

Stage 2
TOY050 Torsion Bars (one set)
Rear coil springs (one set)
45795FE Front Foam Cell PRO shocks (2)
45796FE Rear Foam Cell PRO shocks (2)
BRACKET100 Landcruiser 100 Series Control Arm Reinforcement (1)
IDD100 Front Differential Drop Kit (1)

Stage 3
TOY050 Torsion Bars (one set)
Rear coil springs (one set)
45795FE Front Foam Cell PRO shocks (2)
45796FE Rear Foam Cell PRO shocks (2)
BRACKET100 Landcruiser 100 Series Control Arm Reinforcement (1)
IDD100 Front Differential Drop Kit (1)
UTA003 Rear Upper Trailing Arms (2)
LTA003 Rear Lower Trailing Arms (2)

Thanks, what tire size would I be able to comfortably fit on the stock rims which are 18" assuming I go with the 2" IM lift.

There's where you get into a bit of a sticky subject....

Technically your 2" Ironman lift really doesn't change what tire size will fit, it just changes the point in the suspension travel that the vehicle sits at rest.

In my experience, a 275/70R18 fits just fine, on stock wheels, without any other modifications ( no spacers, no pounding of pinch welds, no reforming of plastic, no body lift, no sawzall or angle grinder) , without rubbing at all, under any situation, and the spare just barely fits in the stock location. (The 275/70R18 will also fit without the lift). It's also a relatively common and relatively inexpensive tire size.

You'll find plenty of other posts, that will say that a slightly larger tire will fit, or it only rubs "slightly" under certain conditions, with or without additional modifications.

OME are way too harsh, I am also regretting my decision of going OME route.

I'm considering this same question.
So coming from aLX470, thinking ahead to an AHC delete. Between OME vs IM, which would be closer to the height and ride quality to the AHC in the highest setting?
(Not trying to hijack your thread OP)

I am surprised some are finding OME harsh, I love the ride of mine. What valving option are you guys selecting?

The old OME shocks that I had on my 80 series were fine.

In my opinion/experience, the current Sport Shocks (60000/60002, which I understand to be the lighter valved option) seem unnecessarily harsh, when compared to some of their competitors.

I've got 1 IFS 100 series in the driveway with OME shocks, and 2 IFS 100 series with Tough Dog shocks, and an extra set of OME 60000/60002, sitting in a box, in the garage, with only a few 100 miles on them. Swapping nothing but the shocks (Tough Dog for OME), was a night and day difference in ride quality.

I'm not completely alone in this observation:

Just installed the IM FCP today on my LX. Rides smooth, only thing is the torsion bars are not keeping the front end level after movement. I drove it around my yard today and the front dropped almost an inch. Any ideas?

Some settling is to be expected, although an inch seems a little extreme. Crank it to where you want it, take it for a ride around the block, recheck and readjust as needed, repeat.

I would say don't even think about it lol I made a huge mistake and I have driven my ome LX 1000 miles. I am thinking of getting LX shocks but I am not sure if it will work with ARB bumper

Any thoughts on the Dobinsons kit??
same, I’m shopping around and I’m curious how people like the Dobinsons

(I personally have no experience with the Dobinsons kit, the OP might want to change the thread subject, in order to attract some Dobinsons users into the thread)

IronMan would be closest. But, it would be a LONG way from the smoothness of a properly functioning and maintained AHC. As much as I LOVE my ToughDog setup, it is nowhere near as comfortable on the road as the AHC that was on the rig previously.

Thanks, I'm planning to try the long travel Dobinson in 6 months or so, will be interesting how the ride compares.

As this thread is specifically about OME vs Ironman vs Dobinsons, I will chime in and ask a question.

I used to have a LX450 and am now in the market for a 100 series.

I put OME on my 80/LX450 and found the ride great. It was firm.

If I liked the OME ride on the 80, will I like it on the 100 or is it much firmer?

Sounds like from everything I've heard its pretty harsh. We have OME BP-51s on the 80 and had OME on our 60 and they're both fine. 100 maybe not so much..
