I've searched for a solution to mounting an iPad in the cab, but haven't found anything that I think would work. I don't necessarily want to change my radio; I just want the iPad there for maps when needed.

We are getting ready to come out with a triple cup holder design. In theory you could use a tablet mount like the one in this link https://www.amazon.com/Holder-Tablet-Adjustable-Samsung-4-7-12-9/dp/B0BYYDZSPV/?tag=ihco-20 in the 3rd backside hole and still have two free cup holes. Just a thought. This would be for the 62 Series console set up. We are getting ready to do the same thing for the 60 Series console with an update to our double cup by adding a 3rd hole for 3 cups OR a possible phone/tablet mount insert.

That triple cup design would be for the later console that was offered in the 62 series AND the last 2 years of the 60 series. See pic below of the console our design is compatible with.

Good deal. That's the console I have being an '87 model.

Then you would need our upcoming triple design for the manual which is this one. You might be able to put the tablet mount cup insert on the far (passenger) side hole and clear the shifter. I'm not sure if the space is sufficient for that or not. I would definitely like to know if this concept is possible. You would definitely hit the tablet with the shifter if mounted on the driver side hole and probably on the middle hole. If you have any interest in trying this option then shoot me a message. I will give you a great price on our new triple design if you can answer the question about the possibility of a tablet mount being installed on the far side hole.

@kody472 sent me some pics of his tablet set up with our new triple cup holder design coming out this week. Once I saw the pics, I was shocked at how large the tablet was he is using but it appears to fully work with this setup. He mentioned the insert that the tablet mounted expands into had some movement so he was going to add some foam adhesive on the outside of the insert to make it really snug. That is one option, but I think what I will do is offer an insert that has a slit (top to bottom) in it so that if the expandible accessory mount is used in the insert it can expand into the insert and the insert (with the added slit) can simply expand now into the hole and be fully snug without the use of any foam adhesive. I will come up with something today for folks who want to go this route with a semi adjustable insert to allow for a super snug fit in the hole. I hope that makes sense. I will post of CAD snapshot of what I come up with in a bit.

Here's a CAD snap shot of the updated insert ring for the larger cup holder. This will allow enough expansion in the hole with the expandable tablet mount that it will become very snug and stable with no need for some type of foam adhesive/spacer. The gap lines up with the gap on the cup holder body which will allow folks with mugs/insulated bottles with built in handles to slide down into the hole fully. We will ship the new 62 Series Cup holder designs with this updated insert. We are making a batch right now so we are holding off on releasing this product by a couple days to make sure we have enough inserts available to ship with the new designs. Sorry for the delay. This should be our final tweak to the design.
