Introduction

Introducing myself. Recently picked up an FJ40 with an April 1973 production date on the VIN tag. It is far from original <grin>.

-Engine swapped to an LT1 (painless harness). Almost positive it is a 1994 F-Body
-SM465 transmission
-Factory transfer case
-Saginaw power steering
-Drum brakes rear/disc brakes front
-Lights and signals work. Everything else cut <sigh>
-frame and tub in pretty condition

I’ve already found this forum invaluable as I’ve started poking around the FJ. Hopefully over time I’ll be able to contribute back.

That was a very dear friend of mines 40. This was Sue Lee Buns 40. of Bun Trail Welders . Sue is in the Battle of her life with Cancer right now and needed to sell her 40 to help with Medical costs . Was going to ask if has the one year only reverse light but doubt it. The tub, hood and bib are all pre 73 model. You also need to look at the front overhang of the hood. It should fit flush with the bib. The bib has rubber pads on the top sides that hood rests on. Your looks like the side of the hood rests on the aprons.

it no longer has the factory bumper and tail lights. It may originally be the “one year only.” I’ve seen a couple of references to this specific manufacture date being “between” the 72 and 9/73. Thanks for info on the front. I know some elements aren’t 73. For example, the rear view mirror mount is definitely pre-73. Now that I see that overhang, I can’t take my eyes off it <grin>. Added to the list.

My and my family’s thoughts and prayers are with Sue and her’s.

As said, it’s on 39s. About true 37” as currently inflated and loaded. Suspension is a spring over. Front shackle is reversed. Wheel base is about 95” center of hub to center of hub.

The Engine is out of a 1993 corvette. It has a Detroit locker in the rear . Aqualu tailgate with storage . Dash storage . Metal Tech cage . Allied beadlocks Advanced adapter front reduction gear box Stock t case
