Hi,

My name is Ben Troia, I live in Auburn CA, and I am new to your list. I have owned and wheeled toyotas and jeeps for the last 20 years, and just bought a 99 Land Cruiser. My trail experience is pretty much limited to the Sierra's and I have done most of the real trails in this beautiful mountain range.

This list will be an excellent resource for the technical info needed to get the most out of this vehicle. As a start, I'll be installing a suspension system and rock sliders from Slee by the end of the year.

Thanks in advance for your knoweledge and willingness to guide me as necessary.

Welcome. I just joined this site also, came over from a majority 4Runner site. You beat me to the LC purchase, but at least when its time to go to Slee, its only a 1/2 hour drive for me and here's to sharing suspension tips

I do not own any other Toyota's now. My previous ride, that I still have, is a 96 Jeep Cherokee. My 16 year old son has the option of taking it on as his first car. If he decides to get something different I am going to sell it. It has allot of mods which make it very capable and it still rides and drives great (arb air locker, 4.5 inch suspension, rockrails, recaro seats ect).

I checked out your pic site. Killer info!

When I upgrade my cruiser I am going to try and balance the on road drivability and economy with basic boulder trail off road performance. My initial thought is not to go as big as you, i.e. dual lockers and 35s... But, we'll see. I dig your ride...

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I appreciate it. My new ride is a 99 that goes something like this:
82 k miles
1 CA owner with all factory recommended service records performed at Toyota
White exterior gray interior
rear locker option
chrome glamor OEM wheels (not my fav, I prefer the silver ones)
brand new yoko geolander tires
the thing is pretty much like new
paid $17,800 for it
oringinal sticker was $54k
I think it has pretty much all the options...

Yeah, there are a few guys on here i think that could get out and live life a little, instead of sitting in their garage reading page by page through all the factory service manuals....but then again if they didnt we wouldnt have the wealth of information on this forum.
