Nice build, and pics!

I noticed your bare cargo space has some areas of light "patina" (aka.. rust). Did you sand that down or do any surface prep? Wire brush or steel wool? Rustoleum rattlecan primer &/or paint? POR or Herculiner before new carpet? Just wondering since you had it so nicely exposed. Did u lay down any carpet padding beneath the HD outdoor rug? I'll check this rug out later today, but can you just cut it? Doesn't require and edge trim to prevent fraying and shedding carpet yarn?

Do you think the 1/4" MDF is strong enough to hold up speaker mount screws alone? Any wobble or rattle? Or still need to use the rear brace brackets?

I'm thinking of installing these with rivnuts to make to easy to take on and off.

What color/brand paint? Looks like a great match. I have the same interior on my white '90 FJ 62.

Any ideas on using this technique for the door side panels? Same cheap cardboard material, but has a bit more complicated contours and cutouts for ash tray, door handles, etc. hmm.

I was just about to attempt a lame rehab of these thrashed cardboard and torn vinyl panels using glue and cinder blocks. LOL. Totally saved my day.

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT INSPIRATION AND PICS.
