Mine just died... I think.

When I turn the dial, nothing happens.

Interior lights are on full illumination...thankfully.

Any ideas?

Could be either the relay or the rheostat. Same all the way through 2001, ie: '95 for the 4Runners. Hit up the recycler's (cheaper choice) or a dealership.

Part#'s..

Rheostat (84119A): 84119-32090 $125-150 new. *Again, recycler's probably 1/3rd that.

Toyodiy listing: 84-01 SWITCH AND RELAY diagram and parts.

hey i would check your rheostat first.

Thanks for clarifying, I put the right part number but posted "switch" by mistake. :meh:  The rheostat's just a glorified potentiometer and the circuit just eventually wears out or corrodes/wears out. Heck for that matter, you could source a decent 12v potentiometer rated right and sub that in IIRC, just heat sink it correctly.

Yeah, you are right.

I will pull it and look at the specs. Probably can get something close from Mouser. I am not paying 140.00 for a pot ( :
