So I was sitting all bored this weekend and decided to start researching what all those blank buttons are , the ones covered with plastic caps below the gear shifter as well as some on either side behind the steering wheel . After a lot digging turns out it’s a ZX variant that I’ve never seen before . It has a bunch of stuff that makes it even more optioned out than the LCs we get in NA . They also seem to be factory installed not aftermarket . Here’s what I’ve noticed

First pic is the buttons I’ve mentioned . Anybody know what they do ?

Second image is an additional switch on the far right of the driver seat that seems to control additional seat positions .

Third image is what seems to be automatic open/close of the jump seats unlike the ones we get here which are manual .

Fourth image is what looks like interior pinhole lights that shine straight down into the cabin . Very subtle interior lights I think . I’ve seen them on other vehicles and I actually liked them .

I just wanted to share this find with you . Anybody have more info on this trim ?

I believe the items in the first and the third are from LX570 in the US, and high-end LC models in places where the LX isn't offered.. First pic has the hydraulic suspension buttons. Third pic is for the power 3rd row seats. Don't know about others, but maybe drawn from the same sources, i.e., LX570.

AHC buttons.
Power third row.

All of these are present on the LX in North America. Not sure about those little pinholes, though.

The LC’s Lexus LX cousin ? I didn’t think of that . I’m gona check it out much more closely . Thanks for the info ! Those pics I posted are all from the same vehicle I found online for sale in Malaysia . It’s a 2018 LC 200 ZX with 15K miles for 115K USD I might add !

For some it would be great to get the LX features with the LC front clip. It looks like that's what a ZX is.

I agree . I’m not a fan of the LX looks even though the price is very close with more features . Maybe the last gen LX possibly since it looks much closer to the LC but the current gen with the giant black hole grille up front , definitely not . Now the LC in ZX variant , yes please !

All the differences you noted in the pics are features that exist in the US market LX570 200-series. Some of them trickled down to later model year USDM LCs. Others are unobtainable and only fitted to the LX. Yet some features that only exist in international markets (e.g. diesel, winch, barn doors). There's variations of the 200-series platform all over the world that pick and choose levels of equipment tailored for the respective markets. Like this ZX variant that is an LC with AHC and other goodies.

Here's a list that might give you a better idea of the general differences between USDM LCs vs LXs. Caveat again that later model year LCs are better equipped and got more goodies.

With enough money you can do anything. For example, you could buy a new LX, put a LC front clip on it, and sell your LX front clip to recoup some of the cost. The rear quarter windows and back hatch are slightly different but not as dramatically different as the grill etc..

The bottom left 3 buttons (Comf, Eco, Norm, Sport S/S+) are drive modes.
The buttons under the low range (the one with the arrow and the one below it) are the controls for the AHC.
The rest I believe is the same as the US.
Not sure about anything else.

@Julian73 do you agree with the input below?
Item #1, I have questions about"substantially" (based on slim data, just a 570 test drive vice owning the LC)
Item #7, My 2017 did not have it, but my 2020 does, think maybe 18+ had it.
Item #18, not common perhaps but some LXs did not have 3rd row, and obviously the HE edition deletes it as well.
Itwm #19, unless I read the customization section wrong, this is on the 2020 LXC as well.
Item #26, recent posts suggest the LC would have this too if owners wanted to pay for premium fuel.

So for a 2020 to 2020 comparison I would list it (the LX) as:
1) More sound deadening
2)
3)
4)
5)
6) Mark Levinson Reference (only other model to get the Reference system is the LS) w/surround
7)
8) AHC - AVS, lift on demand, auto and multi-step damping, anti-dive/roll/squat, leveling, etc., etc.
9) AHC underbody armor
10) Shorter roof rack (LC has a longer roof rack with 3 supports per side)

15) Power slide rear seats

17) 14-way adjustable driver seat vs 10-way LC (passenger 12-way vs 8-way)
18) Power stowage for 3rd row seat for 3rd row models)
19)
20)
21)
22) Puddle and side step lights
23)
24)
25)
26)
27) More luxurious interior appointments

Later LC's do have #7, I overlooked; I never tried to confirm #19

Thanks for the links guys . Makes so much more sense now . I didn’t know some overseas variants have quite different options . For point #7 my 2019 has it I can confirm that . I’ll go through the list and see what else exists on MY2019 .

In regards to more sound deadening, there's definitely undocumented details but at a minimum, the LX has acoustic front glass and more extensive engine sound damping covers where the LC does not. Owners of both LC and LX have said the LX is subjectively 20% more quiet.

The later gen LXs have moved further forward too, just as the LCs have gained features. I don't own either later models so please do correct me if I'm mistaken.

28) Ventilated outboard rear seats
29) Four-zone climate concierge
30) LED Headlamp with AHS Sequential Turn
31) LED Cornering Lamp
32) 12.3-inch high-res split-screen display (LC 9")
33) Head-up display
34) All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (LC DRCC for 25mph and up)
35) Steering wheel paddle shifter
36) Door puddle projector lamps
37) Rear door retractable sun shades
38) 2020 gets special trims: "LX570 Sport" to "LC Heritage"

Windows Auto Down with Remote (19) can be coded into 15 LCs with Techstream, can't comment on others.

The little pinholes in the overhead console exist in LCs as well but there are no lights, I modified my overhead console to add the lights.
