All that work to sand off the entire truck? And he left the POS OEM roof rack on there and you can see the rust holes! WTF???????????????

 its bird s***

That is a great point about the heat. Never thought of that. But I like the idea, overall. It would probably look really good just done up the sides of the truck as well.

I remember Robin at CM 03. He had video cameras under that thing.

Roof rack.........buckled side panels......

And that makes it a POS. Maybe it is a diamond for someone that gets it at the right price and doesn't mind the dents. He is not selling it as a showroom condition 80. The truck has good parts on it, some ours, some others, some custom, it is a 80 that was serviced at a cruiser shop. So I still don't get the POS comment.

Yes, they could have removed the ribs, but maybe he chose to keep the roofrack on and later removed it after it was coated. Still doesn't make it a POS.

i don't see it as a pos. Looks like it would be a great out-of-the-box hard core wheeler.

I do know now that i will not durabak the whole truck.

I think it's an awesome truck. Certainly not a poser or a mall cruiser. I don't like the paint job, but that does not make it a POS on my book.

Hey alvaro, here in vzla theres a shop called Automecanica El Triangulo, they do that job but using different colors, the owner has an orange 80 with that same texture, you can't see it well from that picture but i've seen it and it looks good, no worrries about scratches and anything

Very nice.
I see the sway bar on the rear of that 80. But I don't think it's connected.

This is one of the most capable 80s I've ever seen, and the first truck other than Christo's original "School Bus" with a 6" lift (we're talking years before you could buy the kit and bolt it on). Like Garth posted, it does have factory F/R lockers with 4:88 gears. As for the exterior - if you saw the stock black paint after a couple of years of wheeling, you'd understand. Robin drove this truck of the lot new and took excellent care of it, but never babied it off road.

Whoever posed this is a POS obviously doesn't know anything about 80s -

OK......OK......it's the greatest modified vehicle since the turbo bread slicer. I can't hardly type from all the flames eminating from my keyboard.

I did. So I guess one man's _______________ is another man's diamond. Ouch, the keys are burning hot!

I like the 'alternate colors' idea much better than the black.

Those look like they may be narrow 35" tires... I don't suppose you know what he's running on that rig? Not that we're likely to be able to get them in the US though.

Thing went for 10 grand. Sh*t, It has more in mods than that.
Suppose it was the coating that scared people off? Or maybe the body damage? I've been seriously considering a full Line-X job, (I was qouted $1500), but now I'd have to say hell no if it's going to reduce the value of even a badly pinstriped truck.

I like that 'POS'. Had I happened on it sooner, I prolly would've bid.

You haters are makeing me laugh my ass off. Ok maybe not haters but nit pickers. Im selling my 40 right now and I was kickin around the idea to buy a 80. I went to try and bid on this one and it was closed...bummer. This rig has a ton of potential and if you dont see it...then you need to lay off the crack pipe. Someone scored on this one............:flipoff2:

I'm still not sure why this is "one of the most capable 80's in the world". It has J springs plus spacers and L shocks and factory lockers. What makes that more capable than all the other 80's out there with J springs and OME shocks and factory lockers? I'm not knocking that setup, but it's hardly unique and a fairly standard bolt on suspension.

The liner, on the other hand, is wonderfully ugly

Nay

Now I just need to figure out how to line an 80 like that in that type of material in tan and white like an old 55.
That would be the s***.

I spoke to this guy after closing, and the winning bidder has given him the option of selling it outright. I won't go into the details of why, but PM me if you want his phone number, or 'contact user' on ebay.
