How 'bout if ya'll have opinions about how it should be done, you step up? :D

If you'd like to see a really good start - check out Junk's. Linking the threads keeps them fresh. There was one about leaky o-rings at the speedo I hadn't seen before. My x-fer leak really was the output shaft seal, so I added to the thread. Fresh info with a great starting point. That's exactly what a FAQ should be about.
This forum has the added advantage of being able to point at the tech articles.

For new ideas, the faq-linked thread could always be bumped to the top with new information...if one thread on suspension stuff is 4 pages, at least it's good reading.

Like the God of Suspension thread on Pirate. It took me way to much searching to find it. Now it's bookmarked. :)

Excellent idea! That process is a great way to manage growth and redundancy. Here is a suggestion as to how to do it. 1) Select a person to take responsibility for a topic/process. I think you called it a Faq Master earlier in the post. Have the FM write up the article by means of searching for past threads, compiling the FM's own knowledge and then adding anything that is fairly new. The cut and paste method would work very well here. 2) Post the topic/process in an "Auditing" mode somewhere on the board i.e. Woody can make a "getting to faq" page where other members could weigh in their agreement/disagreement with the process/topic. 3) Final editing is done. 4) Topic is placed in the Cruiser Tech Faq Section or Tech Article (I would like to see 40-55 tech articles moved to this new section on the board as opposed to being lumped in with the other models in the tech articles section). I would be willing to write/co-write an article or atleast provide the tech/labor in editing.

Again, great idea!

This has to be a very sensible idea. How is anyone new to ih8mud supposed to know that their question has been asked a hundred times before?

My first question here was what to look for when buying a 60 series. That was 3 weeks ago and it has come up 2 or 3 times since. I was going to ask about water leaking out my liftgate every time I try to use my rear window washer but now I see that's a FAQ too ???

Frequently asked questions are by definition frequently asked. Someone please help me and other newbies by putting the questions and answers in one place. Otherwise, these questions will still be frequently asked.

BTW, I don't think it is right to assume everone has a FSM. Even if a procedure is covered in the manual, manuals are written for mechanics and most questions here are from enthusiastic novices. A good writeup, written for a novice, won't say the same thing as the manual.

I would volunteer, but I know nothing....

thanks for the link gumby, but all the pics came up red x? :(
