For folks interested in the tall caps - the metal faceplate were machined from a Blanchard ground piece of stock, and have this snazzy pattern on them. What's everyone's thoughts on leaving this vs scotchbriting it all to a uniform finish? (like what I showed back on the first page with the test piece).
I like the main pattern, but there are also a few trace lighter marks nearly perpendicular to the main angle of grind - so take a good look and let me know what you think.
I actually ended up leaving that pattern - turns out, it's too deep for a scotchbrite belt to take out anyways, hahaha.I like the pattern, but I think I’d have to see it on a wheel to know for sure. It would probably hide scratch marks well.
Man, I need to get back on this! Everything is machined, I just need to go get the faceplates anodized.Bump for an update? Very interested in you taking my money.
