Yeah- John already custom made a huge open intake manifold for Georges' truck but extreme performance is not my goal here.. The safari intercooled truck I drove had a lot of lag, we are trying to limit that by keeping the charge air chambers small while still providing enough cooling delta. This IC is rated for more flow and HP than my engine will ever require..

Cool, I don't think I will ever do something like that on mine unless there is serious benefits to it. I would have to see some big improvement numbers. I think more air is probably better if anything. I just really don't want to hurt my engine. A good power increase and maximum longevity. I think its all within proper EGT numbers and I should be all good.

I just need to figure out a few silicon hose sizes and I will order my exhaust stuff. Tomorrow would be nice!
Dame I am excited for this turbo!

The only way to get more power/torque under "normal daily drivable rpm" out of the 4.2L/4.0L toyota turbo diesel is by either machining the housing for the larger inducer wheel and changing out the exhaust wheel or get the "Gturbo".
I had my 12ht CT26 machined and the larger wheels added , with no intercooler, i've never seen egt's at 800F post turbo @ 10psi and full boost is @ 1600rpm .The thing pulls hard upto 3200rpm.

Actually, when i was getting my turbo worked, Steve EBI also had one in getting the same mod's done for one of a 4.2L.

Sorry I don't know s*** about the 12 ht but my real world experience with the hdt belies your statement.

OK so the ATEB Skunkworx intercooler has been on the truck for 9 months or so....

3 inch exhaust/ aeroturbine stock ct26 at 16psi. stock gears 35" Mt's

I have all the highway power I could ever want and am now unable to get past 1000 degrees pre turbo. Driving burnaby to Squamish and back I can stay in overdrive on all the hills. I know I could add fuel and go faster but see no reason to do so. It is far faster and more useable/comfortable in all conditions. I don't understand all this BS I read about needing more cooling at low range crawling speeds, I would never run my truck that hard in rough terrain anyway.

Great improvement. and no issues post installation with leaks or workmanship.

Dope!

Here is the start of mine.

Solid progress there, Christian. Looking forward to the test drive in, say, August 2019?

At least you'll be done before FB! lol

At the rate your getting me info it might be 2020! :flipoff2:

Lol dammit Karter how many different modes of communications are we going to use tonight?

Have I got a sticker for you.... stay tuned ;)

Good one. I like how he calls Ateb for john to rescue him when the low oil light comes on. I am surprised you know how to open the hood but the question is have you ever put a wrench your truck and done something yourself for a change.
Must be nice to have disposable income.

But yes the plenum is in the works and I will be getting a custom intercooler done by Bell Intercoolers.

Actually Karter- the low oil pressure was on Lance's truck, which I was delivering as a favour to him while he was out of town. I was not going to take a chance with a friends rig. Turned out to be a bad gauge, and as it was the first time I had driven it- I thought I made a responsible decision to ask for help.

Thanks I get enough wrench time at work- I know I am not as worldly or knowledgeable as you are!

I was going to make a joke about excessive use of the caps lock key but decided not to.. lol

Christian- I got it on ebay from CXRacing John knows which one- I dont have the details...

And we all know where you got the plenium idea from. Kind of nice having ATEB close by for sure.. I'm thinking that without guys like sailor working on boats ,that most would be heading to shore in their dingy.

Not bashing Ateb I just shake my head at someone who try's to give me flack about getting mods done when he doesn't personally do the mods himself.

Johns seems like a good guy, we have traded email a few times and I have asked questions which he has answered.

I first saw the plenum thing with td42 stuff and started digging into it more after Graeme (gturbo) mentioned it and its benefits. Then I found out your beast had it done and it really perked my interest, not too many guys pushing performance 1hz and 1hdts up in Canada.

Foreal- the mods we do to diesels at work are pretty extensive. Of course the engines generally weigh more than my whole truck.

I have been mod-ing vehicles longer than you have been alive. It hurts a bit more to drop a transmission in the gutter on a rainy side street for me now than it used to when I did stuff like that in my early twenties. lol.

Think about the above two sentences before you feel you have the right to "Shake my head".

And if I was John Voo, I would tell you to jam it. His knowledge is hard won and puts food on the table for his family. You want it for nothing. (John is nicer than me)

How long has it been since you moved out of your parents house anyway? lol

sorry if I have offended anyone here. Dont want the Polish black hand to descend upon me lol

I've sent a few customers to John before he may not know it but I have been thanked for helping people out and pointing them out to a reputable place.

I'm not getting in a pissing match with you. I've worked very fxxxing hard to get where I am. I deal with pricks like you on a daily basis and I'm tired of hearing negative s*** so you can feel good about yourself , grow up buddy.
