I'm trying to help a friend that is working on a 78 FJ40. He is looking for a piece of metal and "it attaches in the front of the manifold and has a metal elbow where the hot air tube that goes up to the air cleaner attaches". That is his description. I don't know the part's actual name but I do know SOR doesn't have any in stock. So, maybe one of you good folks do and or can help.

Thanks in advance.
Email or PM me if you can help.

It's called an exhaust manifold insulator.

The one for a CA thermal reactor is part number 17167-61031. The one you want is probably 17167-61011 or 17167-61012

They are both pretty much unobtanium or ridiculously priced. You could take the picture to a sheet metal shop and see if they could fabricate one for you. I have made one from bent coat hangers, aluminum foil and aluminum foil tape that was acceptable to pass CA smog.

There are some options here. Odds are the bolt holes won't line up with your manifold, but maybe. Probably no returns from either site.
